I found one that was decent, but I should say that their wine section isn't huge. But it did the job. I thought that this liquor store was called The Campus Connection, because those are the words that are painted in red across the entire front of the building. But no, this place is actually called Friendly Package Liquors, and there's a small plaque by the door that tells you that information, in small letters. Friendly is located just down the street from Ball State University, so indeed, it really does have a connection to the campus. The people who work here are super friendly (thank goodness, because of the name of the store), and were ready and willing to help me find what I needed, even though I didn't need any help.

I've "untapped" 416 distinct beers in the past 2 years, I'd say roughly 375 or more have all been purchased at this location. As to the service, most all of the employees seem rather knowledgeable about craft beer with the new ones working to lern. I can pretty much promise you if they're not busy at the register, they'll come out and talk beer with you, yet not be overbearing. If you're lucky enough to meet Brewer Bob, listen to what the man has to say.

Since then, I've made it a regular rotation for grinders and dessert. The grinder bread--made on-site daily--is their specialty. I've watched videos on how they make it and cook it, but I doubt I'd be able to recreate at home. Try something you like the first time and then start to expand and experiment with their other combinations. Pizza is solid. One of these visits I'm going to skip the grinder and try their take on a midwest classic--taco pizza. Definitely a budget chain that gives you a locals favorite vibe. Didn't feel the classic 'record scratch--locals stare' when I walked in...but it was very apparent everyone knew each other. While it started in Michigan, there's many branches in MI, IN, KY, and a few in IL and WI. If you're heading to Mancino's, try a 1/2 grinder to start.
