I did find the cupcakes, but the selection was minimal (all they had were 12-packs of vanilla cupcakes). Boo. Anyway. If you strip the Walmart label, this seems like a decent grocery store with all the usual grocery/pharmacy offerings. It's spacious, clean, quiet, and all that jazz. Organic offerings? Not so much. And it's basically across the street from Kroger, which is much better, in my opinion. Yes, the prices are lower here, so I understand why some people shop here. But... It's Walmart. The name alone turns me off. There are many better places to shop for food in Lexington. Three stars because the store itself is OK.

I found a glass shaped pumpkin jar on clearance for 1.30 it was originally 13.99. That was definitely a steal! Right after thanksgiving they had their glass Pyrex storage containers on sale but one get one which of course I did. I also found Murray's Brie cheese on clearance for 4.45 it was 8ozs. There are so many things at this store I don't see at the one on Euclid. Plus I don't have to deal with the hungry crazed students shopping. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I use u-scan so I never really have a long wait in line if any. Thursdays at all Kroger's they have rotisserie chickens for 5.00. The store itself seems to always be clean and well stocked. Of course I still have a harder time navigating the store because I'm so used to the one on Euclid. But it's definitely worth the trip. Don't forget to checkout their clearance section I got Starbucks coffee for 2.01.

Usually it is 95 cents at big box stores so we just bought two cans to tide us over through our little emergency. The store was so interesting that we continued to browse around and found a great deal on ice cream treats. The My Mochi - Strawberry is regularly priced at $6.49 but was on sale for $3.99 today. One of the more interesting things here is the wood floors. And it seems like at least a third of the square footage is dedicated to fresh produce and fruits.

Funny enough, we have MORE fun shopping at Aldi, talking to other patrons and then figuring out what our bill would have been elsewhere. Let me just say - we are saving between 40-60% off our previous grocery bill. It's truly shocking. It's more fun than the Target Dollar Spot! We still have the occasional Costco run, but even some of our Costco staples are cheaper at Aldi! Now, if only I can remember a quarter and all my reusable bags!

She's particularly fond of German cookies so every Christmas season I go and buy her a bunch of German cookies. They also had frozen apple strudel which I probably should have gotten. They have the Kringle too. They have beef schnitzel but I was looking for pork which I didn't see unfortunately. I did end up with some cooca dusted truffles and dark chocolate covered marshmallows as well. In the Aldi's "find" isle they had some really nice gifting ideas. Such as a fairly thick blanket but it wasn't what I was looking for. The sled candles were super cute as well.

The Indy stores still have closed food service. A couple of Halloween items were already out on display. We found a round folding chair with soft velvety material for $40. And a Members Mark shredder with the attached trash can for $60. I thought these were pretty good deals. I usually go to Sam's once a month for supplies that end up lasting me for several months. Sam's still does a pretty good job keeping everything in stock during these scarcity of times. The roofs over the shopping basket returns are the first I've seen.
