He also shared information about the property as well as future development. The whisky tasting was great too. The best part was meeting the owner at the end of the tour. She was very polite and welcoming. She took photos with guests and signed merchandise. The master blender was there also on this day. Other staff that I encountered on my visit were also very pleasant. This is a must if you're in the area. The world'a longest bar is on this property; it's a sight to see! Stop by if you're nearby.

We went on one of the…read morepopular Nashville Whiskey Distilleries and Tours Nashville and the surrounding area are home to a vibrant whiskey scene, with options to suit every taste, we went with what is considered the father of whiskey. We went to Uncle Nearest Distillery. It honors the legacy of Nathan "Nearest" Green, the formerly enslaved man who taught Jack Daniel how to make whiskey. It's located in Shelbyville, TN (also about a 1-hour drive from Nashville). They offer tours that tell Nearest Green's story and provide insights into the distillery's whiskey-making process. Tasting Sessions: Tours include tastings of Uncle Nearest's award-winning whiskeys, allowing you to sample different expressions and appreciate their flavor profiles. The amount of whiskey was very small and in plastic cups. The pictures on the sight reflects flight glasses during the tasting. That really needs to be addressed. The distillery's focus on Nearest Green's story makes it a culturally important and educational experience. I think it's a must for everyone going to a whiskey tour.

Her blood sugar was 300 and rising, and she had her insulin pump and insulin with her, but needed a simple syringe and needle to administer insulin. We were met with complete rudeness and zero compassion. We understand that providing syringes without a prescription is ultimately at the pharmacy's discretion, but insulin syringes are available over the counter at most pharmacies. She has never had a pharmacy refuse her in an emergency like this, especially when it is obvious she is a type 1 diabetic with a pump that can literally show her current blood sugar. After rushing to town with urgency, then being met with this by this pharmacy, costed us even more time- and her blood sugar was at 400 by the time we finally found someone to generously help us. I understand policies, but there is a huge difference between following a policy and showing basic compassion to a Type 1 diabetic whose blood sugar is 300+ and climbing. We were simply asking for a basic medical supply during an emergency--not asking for anything inappropriate or controlled. Very disappointing experience, and the attitude we received made it even worse. Very bad first impression of Winchester Tn.
