The best part about this place, however, is how the proceeds go to various community projects and scholarships. Quick Rundown: Atmosphere: 5/5 - nice little boutique vibe - reminds me of some of the vintage shops i once frequented when i lived in Los Angeles. The music was a perfect mix of pop/rock from the 80s/90s/00s and wasn't so loud you couldn't think. Staff: 5/5 Super sweet, and very helpful. They offered to get a room ready for me once they saw the number of items i was carrying about (probably thought i had lost my mind - which i suppose i had what with those prices). Parking/Location: 5/5 It's right on College Ave. It has a large parking lot and is easily within walking distance of Elmira College, Jimmy Johns, and the equally fabulous Yeni's ice cream parlor. Great prices on many items better than most stores. Especially if you buy in bulk things like toilet paper, paper towels, and non perishable items. In my opinion they have two weaknesses. First produce in general is not great just like their other business Walmart they don't do a great job of sourcing good produce. However sometimes I have found some fresh oranges and a few other fruits worth grabbing. The second is quality items meaning if you want some options for organic or non gmo options they very lacking in these areas. All in all Sams has great stuff I would highly recommend spending 40 bucks for a membership which gives you 2 cards so you could even split it with a friend.

I was very disappointed to see one of the employees post posting a product that was sold in limited quantities for the public.... "While supplies last". For a markup from $60 to 350.. It's not fair to customers that an employee can stock up on these items and sell them to turn a profit, preventing regular customers from being able to purchase a single one. I would not recommend choosing Sam's Club if you're on the hunt for merchandise that is sold in a limited qualities because the allow their employees to resell items.

The Arnot Mall was a discovery on my way home, and was a bit out of my way, but made it worth it…read moreanyway for time's sake. What comes out at you is seeing the interior, clean and all, but filled with empty stores and dark with some of the lighting being off. Usually in those situations, their trying to save money by cutting down on electricity, which is no issue, but as long nobody gets hurt in the dark areas. It was pretty easy to navigate the mall, as I didn't need to look at the map for the most part - only two main hallways which makes it extremely convenient to not get lost. Some businesses I found here caught me by surprise and remained open still such as JCPenney, Ruby Tuesday, Burlington, and FYE. As long as they are still thriving, that's what matters. There were no signs indicating that were closing soon, and most of the inventory looked in great shape. The majority of the other stores seemed to be doing okay on my visit, none of which I saw were closing soon. Depending on each store, some looked busier than others, which didn't come as a surprise for the most part, but the time of the day and year plays a role in it as well. The food court looked okay, with some open and closed as well, and looks good for the most part. It's not the prettiest-looking place that's eye appealing, but is clean and kept up which matters the most. They had decent choices to offer just by looking. The movie theater is still open and running which is great to see. Overall, the mall I believe falls in the dead category. Although some sections of the mall are dead, others are alive and filled with shoppers. It looks like it depends on the area. Even though that is now, that could change in no time.

Whenever I do use a cashier-run register, it is always a pleasant experience - last week I bought 50 candles and the cashier rang me out with a smile and friendly conversation.
