Maria C.'s review was pretty dead on...I had mixed feeling also and I agree...don't deal with the…read morefinancial aid department if you don't have to (isn't this most schools, though). When I attended AASU, one of the things that I thought was crazy is that they don't offer an undergraduate business degree, however they will prep you to go to another school to get one. Oh another thing, PARKING: Make sure you have a decal or you will get ticketed!! Students drive like maniacs in the parking lot so beware and look both ways. The campus and student activities have continued to grow which is a plus. Celebrate Armstrong Day and festivals are always fun- be sure to check out AASU art exhibits and the Masquers student theatre troupe from time to time. Plays are always reasonably priced for students and the general public. All in all, I feel like there are more pros than cons and would definitely recommend this university. PS. High non-traditional student population and a nice mix of people.

I spent four years at Armstrong and lived in the dorms. Armstrong has commuter students and…read moreresidential students. I am sure the experience is different. I also competed in sports and was on the student Senate. For those who came to campus and were gone by noon, they need to realize that Armstrong was different because they chose to make it Abercorn High by living with mommy and daddy rather than experiencing a true college life and attending Armstrong as a university. Either that or they were the middle aged students who were finally coming back to get an education usually in nursing or teaching. If you want a college experience, I recommend living on campus. Either get an apartment right off campus or stay in the dorms, which are basically apartments with kitchens and bathrooms nowadays (unlike the community showers some of us remember down the hall) with individual student bedrooms (once again, no snoring roommate either in the same bunkbed with you or across the tiny 10 foot room you share). The apartments or dorms on campus are great. As for the student who posted that Armstrong does not offer an undergraduate business degree, learn to do some research. Armstrong was sued in the 1980's by the historically black college Savannah State. As a result of this lawsuit, the University System of Georgia divided the education programs to make them "equal." This is why Naval ROTC is at SSU and Army ROTC is at Armstrong; Business is at SSU and Education is at Armstrong; Marine Biology is at SSU and Nursing is at Armstrong, etc. There have been exceptions over the years since the agreement to make them "equal," but for the most part, neither school is allowed to compete against the other with programs--so they are split. Armstrong is a great school.
