I've eaten infrequently at Savanna for about five years now; the last time was about two months ago, I think. The short summary is: food is (mostly) fine and very affordable by The Hague standards, service stinks. Sometimes there's a new person who tries, but they quickly get caught up in a company culture of indifference.
As I said, though, the food is usually all right; I've had great meat dishes here for very reasonable money, and it's usually well-prepared. Avoid the veggie dishes though - they're clearly not the chef's passion. Pastas are good, freshly prepared and al dente.
The drinks assortment is extensive, albeit pricey, even by local standards.
In short: fine if you want good, affordable food, but your patience might be tried while you try to get it. Which is a pity, because this could be a real winner if they just tried a little harder. read more
