I spent several months researching different photographers but I didn't really like their aesthetic. A few of my Seattle friends were photographed by David and I had wished there was someone like him in NY. I took a chance and reached out to him anyway, hoping he could do a destination session. David promptly replied, was clear on the expectations and prices, built rapport to make sure he understood my vision, and my fiance and I both skyped with him. It was hard choosing a photographer who didn't even live on the same coast as us so I needed to make sure we both felt comfortable with him and trusted him. He was so nice and easy going, assuaged our worries, and assured that he would help us through the awkwardness (because my fiance and I are not touchy-feely people). After a thread of emails and incessant questions on my end, trying to narrow down on a destination, we finally decided to shoot at Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend in AZ. David was patient with me throughout the whole process and agreed to meet us there. To prevent myself from going on and on, the experience was amazing. David was quick, gave us direction when we didn't know how to stand and pose, captured amazing shots despite the massive crowds (he made it look like we rented out the entire canyon to ourselves), and gave us shots that I really wanted (slightly editorial, taking advantage of the background, yet still making it all look engagement-y). Above all, he made us feel so comfortable. I was so happy with my pictures--all of my friends raved about how unique they looked from standard engagement photos, and one even used David for her own engagement session. I highly recommend David. It's not easy finding someone so personable and equally talented. I am a fan of his craft.

On top of that, we had seen other wedding photos done and we wanted to preserve more that just a photo of the day, we wanted to preserve the feeling and joy of our union. We ended up contacting Lynnsey by chance and I completely believe we were destined to meet. SHE IS A SUPPORT SYSTEM - She made us feel so safe and comfortable. She made us laugh and we knew, without a doubt, that if everything else failed on our day, we would have Lynnsey by our side. She was more than our photographer, she was our friend and support system through our wild ride of a wedding. AND SHE IS AN ARTIST. I honestly never thought that we could look so good. We have so many beautiful memories to look back on and it is all because of Lynnsey. We literally cannot thank her enough. If we could bring her with us to photograph every life event from now on, we would. AND SHE IS A NINJA - she is so flipping sneaky with her photo skills. We looked at the photos she sent us of our ceremony and went, "Where the F was she hiding while she took these?!" and we got married with around 40 people in attendance and under a small chuppah. Didn't see her once and we have magical close ups of us exchanging our vows (and we don't look ugly while we are UGLY CRYING). Yes. She is that good. I am literally crying as I write this because of how many great memories I have of our experience. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take this advice from us: if you are budgeting for your wedding and are not sure about spending most of your budget on a photographer: DO IT.
