I did read all the reviews but this was the closest spot to me that I could walk to. I was visiting NYC and staying in East Harlem. I figured could they really mess up a pedicure. Well yes they can. First of all they had no hot water. They had to boil water in an electric kettle. They didn't find out until I dipped my toe into the freezing water and let them know. Not only did she not drain the cold water when she came to pour the hot water, she thought tepid was a good temperature. I told her no she needed to make it hotter. It finally got up to warm and I wasn't gonna wait any longer. I just wanted to get over with. There was a weird pricing structure so I didn't get the cat eye I wanted. That was another $15 on top of whatever they were already charging me. So I got a basic hot pink. The girl was really digging into my big toe. It hurt for a good five days after. I'm just not ever going back but I don't think they care. Oh, and they did ask if I wanted to tip in cash or on the card. As if it was not an option. Girl bye! read more

So I've been to Sathi several times for pedis, gel/dip manis over the past few years. They usually do a decent job. However, my most recent visit was not pleasant. I had an appt for 6pm. I got there at 5:45pm for a dip mani and only got someone to soak / remove my previous dip at 630pm. That already had me a bit annoyed because if they knew they'd be overbooked why have that time available ? The lady who did my nails Carmen really didn't seem to know what she was doing with the dip. She kept over applying it and it started to look gunky and uneven. She had to redo a couple nails a few times and she got the powder all over my fingertips and hands. When she finally buffed it out and finished, the color was completely uneven from how much she buffed that it looked splotchy. She also was using a very gloopy bonding agent (making the nails bumpy) and the final coat was diluted so it was not shiny at all. They don't have many options for dip colors so not really sure they're investing in that service much. To top it off she finished at almost 8pm!!! I was not expecting to be there for over 2 hours. small, affordable nail salon with quick service. my boyfriend and I went around 15 min early to our appointment, but they quickly seated us and got to work on our pedicures! their tools were very clean and the shop itself was cute. they used great exfoliating soap and massages our feet very well. for $28, this was a steal and I would come back. read more

Not even one week later & 2 of my nails broke off (in my sleep). The nails on my left hand are WAY longer than the nails on my right- not proportional at all. She put on the acrylics crooked, and I had to ask for her to re-glue them. She looked confused when I mentioned they were crooked. They were literally applied SIDEWAYS. Super nice women, but 1000% NOT worth $78 (or $100 with tip). They do, however, give you a nice hand massage after. This was my first time and I'm so happy with the results! Suzie was my nail technician and she was so kind and a professional who's been doing this for 12 years! I called about gel manicure but wanted tips too so they were able to accommodate me for that. I showed a picture of what I wanted and Suzie sure made that happen! With covid restrictions, they are very prepared. They had glass partitions and masks on. The seats between each customer was 6 feet apart. I gave this place many many chances. Especially since it's one of my local places. They were great the first time I went for gel x. But the next 5 times, the quality just kept getting worse unfortunately. The last time I did gel x. One nail popped off one day after, I had a wedding to to so I went in to get it fixed. Got my pedicure and it was great! The place is clean, aesthetically pleasing to the eye compared to the other nail salons in spanish harlem. Pedicure was $28, good price for the city versus $40-50 on Madison Avenue. The techs were nice. The only thing is I texted the # because I thought it was a cell and no answer, but they answered their IG. I was able to make an appt for my friend and I same day. They do lock the door and buzz to open. You can pay by credit card. They have sanitizer and open new tools from the sanitizing station. The only thing I wish was different was if the foot sinks had the massage thing for the feet since its not individual seats. Also, while drying they do have quick dry drops for free at no additional charge. Super bummed this place didn't work out! I got a gel mani and pedi (two different people did each) pedi came out good but the gel mani is super super sloppy. Like shockingly horrible. Thick chunky gel, very sloppy lines and the tips are chipping and it's been less than 24hrs. Surprised by the good reviews. Total waste of however much this was (with gel mani and pedi I was charged 72 bucks not sure much each service) Update: BY day 3 my gels were chipped in multiple places, I also took a closer look at my toes and those are that great either. I've attached a photo of my nails today after getting these horrible gels remover and redone with the same color....just as a point of reference. read more

After much searching for a salon around East Harlem and the Upper East Side, Sathi has become my go-to! I love that they use disposable liners in the pedicure sinks, provide a set of nail filers for each customer's one-time use, and sanitize all nail tools. All of that doesn't go unnoticed. I even love that they warm the hand scrub they use to massage you as you get a manicure. It feels clean, friendly, and fairly priced with $30 mani-pedis. I've been here 3-4 times now, and the ladies who work here have all been professional, making it a comfortable and relaxing environment. Haven't experienced the uncomfortable chit-chat gossip like in other salons, just some sweet music in the background. It's been the best pick, and I'll keep coming back and bringing friends. After another salon ruined my nails just a few days prior, I came to Sathi's and they saved the day! This is my second visit here. The first time I came for a pedicure and was happy with the results, so I thought I'd give the place a try when I noticed they do SNS/dip powder nails. The shop is very clean and relaxing. I have to say I was thoroughly impressed by this nail salon. The customer service is amazing. The employees that work here are so incredibly kind and considerate. I've been coming to Sathi since they first opened and haven't looked back. I've tried so many salons through the upper East side and all have failed me one way or another. I literally go in, show an inspo pic for a nail color or design and Lidia always gets it right or better. I've gotten specialty pedis with other nail techs and all have worked out. Shaking my actual head. I've gotten my nails done in super expensive locations before such as midtown manhattan and the Hamptons. For 100$ the work came out flawless. In these pictures you see bumpy work, lack of gel powder on the entire nail and a flower that took almost 30 minutes to do. The pedicure was good no complaints there. But if you need your acrylics done, you might as well go to a nicer area in midtown (on 34th and park). They're worth it and accommodating. This place...please improve your work or lower your prices. Definitely leaving a review on better business bureaus...this is not what I wanted for my 25th bday. The two stars are for the accommodation of being 30 minutes late to my appointment and the fact that the technician was having a really hard time but persistently tried her best. However this was not 100$ worth of work. And to clarify this is a regular pedicure and these are gel powder (SNS) acrylic nails with two designs. read more

Pricing is good, space is very nice and clean, owner and technicians are great at their work and don't disappoint. I get gel manis and regular pedis regularly here and recommend you do too. Its sad to say because I've been here before but Lydia (the owner) has done ny nails and shes great! But the other techs meh. So this is what happened....I had one hand that had gel extensions on and it seems like no one there knew how to remove them. I dont understand how you're a nail tech and can't remove gel extensions. Then my nail tech went so deep with the drill bit that she burned my nail AND on that same nail cut my cuticle that I started to bleed! At this point I should have left but I didn't cause I gave the benefit of the doubt. After that they switched out my nail tech with another girl, she was ok but when we got to the color part, thats when it was just a No.I asked for chrome powder nails and they dont look good at all! They look rushed and lumpy and not buffed in well at all. I hate that I spent money for this, and I hate leaving negative reviews but unfortunately this is my last time coming here. If you wanna here for something super basic fine, cause one thing I can say is that they are clean but anything else, I wouldn't recommend UNLESS you see Lydia. read more

This is the second set I've gotten from Lidia at Sathi. She's patient, precise, and great at what she does. She's so nice and really wants to execute my vision. They use great products, and polishes. As someone who's gotten full sets for a long time some salons use cheap glue leading to your natural nail to get destroyed. That hasn't happened here. Sathi has also done an exceptional job at abiding to COVID guidelines. They have sanitizer, everyone keeps their masks on and the employees wipe down their stations after each person leaves. If it were possible to leave zero stars I would! As lovely of a place it looks, the service I received was terrible. Everything was going great until she began to cut my cuticles and any extra skin around my toes. When she got to my index toe (at least that's what I call it), I constantly felt like I was being pinched but it wasn't painful. After she did my big toe, I looked at my index toe before putting it in the water and sure enough my toe was bleeding! When I brought it to her attention she put something on it and was going to resume. I told her that I did not want to continue since I didn't want an infection and that's when the red flags popped up. Instead of being understanding, she told me it was normal for something like this to happen and to not worry. What?! I became persistent in wanting to leave at this point and she began to grow an attitude with me. She gave me paper towels to dry my feet and as she took the plastic out of the bowl, all the water splashed up and all over the place. I was going to give her at least$5-$10 for what she had done already, but after that I chose not to. How do you have an attitude with me wanting to leave when YOU cut me! It's simple to say that I don't plan on ever coming to this place again, especially since I had to go home with a sore and pained toe! read more

I had a gel mani and regular pedi, both had a good roster of nail colors (mostly OPI and Essie). The ladies did a wonderful job and most of all, just overall great service! I wish Yelp allowed to give ZERO stars because that is what this nail salon deserves. I went there two times. The first time I got SNS, and after 3 days, the top coat started to chip.. Usually that happens when the SNS is not SNS brand. I decided to give them a second chance because the location was convenient and because the owner was understanding when I went back THREE times within the first two weeks to get the nails fixed (SNS is supposed to last AT MINUMUM 2 weeks). I thought I should give them a second chance and do Gel instead. Upon arrival I was placed with a nail tech that did not speak English. I asked her three times to put a faux nail on my broken nail so that all my nails could be even. She responded saying something I could not understand, so I continued to let her remove the SNS I had. At the third time of telling her about putting the fake nail, I looked over and the owner who was doing someone else's nails and politely told her that I am asking for a fake nail and if she can communicate that to my nail tech. She snapped back saying "SHE DOESN'T DO FAKE NAILS, SHE ONLY DOES NATRUAL AND YOU DIDN'T SAY THAT WHEN YOU WALKED IN." Hmmm okay. At that point I was ready to go OFF, not because of what she said.. but how she said. I responded saying okay no problem, can you just put the one nail and have her do the polish. She said I would have to wait two hours until she was done because she only works by appointment. I explained I could not wait that long, so again she very rudely responded that she only works by appointment. The lady who's nails she was doing said it was okay to just put my one nail on, since obviously it doesn't make sense to wait two hours for one fake nail lol. She doesn't even thank the lady for allowing her to pause with her. She sits down huffing and puffing about having to attend to my nail. Finally I had enough, when I asked her if she can reshape my nail because the nail tech who was doing my nail literally shaped each nail slanted. She heavily sighs as if she was doing me a favor. I definitely told her about herself and her lack of customer service. She told me to go to another nail salon since I didn't like her customer service, and that is exactly what I did! Good riddance. You might catch the owner on the wrong side of the bed coming to this nail salon. BEWARE!!!! read more
