This proved to be quite a hard task, having tried several hairdresser/barbers and not finding one that suited my needs. Then a friend told me about City Crew which turned out to be exactly the kind of place I was looking for. They offer a student haircut for around £10 which is a very fair price considering the high quality they offer. All the staff are very friendly and put a lot of time and effort into ensuring they give you exactly the cut your after. Would definitely recommend this place!

The staff there are not only welcoming but also incredibly skilled as evidenced by the stunning results. Lisa, the nail technician worked her magic and my nails turned out absolutely stunning! I'm thrilled with the outcome. Without a doubt, I'll be a regular client for my monthly nail appointment at Houghton Cuts. Also, I had my eyebrows shaped and the result is just perfect!

However, as the salon has recently had a refit, their prices have gone up even though they were quite expensive in the first place but now with the price increase you get a nice cup of coffee from their new coffee machine! Now I'm never going back to a boring hairdressing with a normal stand thingy. Walking into the Arch, it's like a boudoir. All decadently decorated, you're seated at a piano, or a large dressing table with fancy mirrors, candlesticks and velvet things. It looks so stylish, it instantly makes you feel like you're in good hands. As for the hair. I had my hair done by a cracking young stylist whose name I forgot to take, but I'd definitely recommend her. I had a Groupon voucher, which was taken with zero-fuss. It's one of those cases where it'll work out for the company, as I've now found my new hairdresser and will be coming back paying full whack next time.
