Lady in the front was very nice and explained the menu to me. Severely disappointed in the portion sizes. I came in at 1pm and the still had decent options available. Rice was really bland, meat in stick was okay and lumpia was definitely refried. Sausage was okay. I try to support local and small businesses but there's no way combo b was worth a whole $15. I had the opportunity to taste Imeldas cooking and it was delicious, superb!!! When she's the cook I buy a lot from her.. Bon can cook too but most of his dishes are salty and the pancit too oily. Pancit!!! I've been wanting pancit for so long and I finally found a place that makes it! It was 8/10; very good, greasy, some fat with the pork(I don't like any fat texture). I also ordered pork egg rolls and they were good as well, fresh and crispy. A pleasant staff and good food. I really really wanted to like this place. We are 5 months new in Houston and have been on a hunt for some whole in a wall filipino food. Sadly, we probably won't be back again. We ordered the following: Pampano, Sinigang na Baboy, Pork bbq sticks, Adobo. Adobo - the favor is definitely there. However, it was definitely on the dry side and the amount of peppercorn was on a whole new level. It seems like they dropped a whole container of peppercorn in the adobo. I cannot even make my next bite without having to remove an incredible amount of peppercorn. Sinigang - Flavor is there but i would appreciate a more "sour flavor". This is just a preference though. Pork Bbq Stick - Really good. A bit dry and im assuming its probably been under the light for a long time. Definitely not "fresh" but its for sure flavorful Pampano - surprisingly, out of everything I have ordered this is the best tasting one. The flavor definitely penetrated the fish. Really good. Total is roughly $45. Quite high in my opinion for fish, 3 bbq sticks, sinigang, and adobo that is supposedly part of the "combo" but the price is definitely reasonable and fair. read more

Quaint cafeteria in a small grocery store. Reasonable prices for combos. I would suggest staying away from the more expensive dishes such as karekare as they have to compromise on which meat cuts to use to make it work. Stick to the staples such as nilaga, sinigang and adobo. You get all the flavor and the right meats that go in the dish. Fried options are good as well. I got the Turon which is amazingly priced. Grocery store prices arent bad either if you just need to swing by. It is very small. Literally just the essentials. read more

-newest review- OK I wanted to come back and give this place another chance because I really wanted to support them. I bought "halo-halo" (check the gallery) for what I got instead after being made to wait behind other people that were in line after me. No beans, no other fillings, no ube..etc. I was shocked and asked, "THIS is a halo halo?" Had they told me it was just banana and, ice, milk, and a little flan I probably would have just said no since I can make that at home without buying the premise jars. I'm so tired of giving this place a chance. If you don't have something, offer an alternative or offer a refund. Their hours are listed at opening at 9 am today and after taking our time to drive there at 11am , they end up "not ready" without any food out. Told us to come back later. Just good ol' a la carte service like Pugon de Manila--another Pinoy food place we frequent. My review is based on the expectations I have of an a la carte canteen instead of a restaurant. We ordered 2 two-entree combos which came with two lumpia rolls and a choice of either rice or pancit. Each order cost $8. Definitely inexpensive. The serving size fit the price and filled us up with a little bit of leftovers. -Dinuguan was pretty good. Just slightly salty and not as fatty as the other review made it out to be. -Chicken curry is pretty good, less aromatic than the Indian version (tailored to Filipino tastebuds imo) -Monggo bean soup had a little too much pork fat and needed more monggo -Pinakbet was really yummy. It had the yellow squash, okra, and ampalaya expected or it. The place had a clean & organized small filipino grocery section, complete with homemade lumpia to buy/seasonings/noodles. When I spoke to the cashier they said they were planning on expanding it and I hope to get access to some longganisa soon. It's in Humble in an older shopping center by a bar and some other small businesses. Places around there close down frequently and it's easy to see why. The area is not the most attractive place to drive to. I hope they find a way to attract customers and continue the nice improvements because this part of town certainly could use some Filipino food eateries. read more

So, this place just recently re-opened under new management. My wife and i used to eat here every couple months or so. I will start off by saying its not the same as it was. Some food items are better but most are definately NOT! We had grilled chicken quarter, pancet, blood stew (chocolate meat), lumpia, and pinak bet. The grilled chicken was delicious. However, you think you are getting a thigh and leg, but you are only really getting half of that because it is sliced thin. you dont realize the lower half is missing until you start to eat it. Wtf!!!???? How can anyone be such a cheap ass as that????? LOL!!! The rediculousness of this cost savings measure is hilarious to me. The entire time i was eating it, i was wondering to myself what on earth they do with the part you are cheated out of? The pancet is crap. If you like dry noodles, a load of chicken boulion, and carrots, this is for you. Otherwise, i suggest choosing something else. The blood stew tasted great, especially if you mix it with white rice. The problem is that the cuts of pork they chose were perhaps 85% fat. I do understand you need fat to enhance the flavor of this dish, but jesus! I guess pork fat costs less than meat? The lumpia isnt nearly as good as it used to be. The actual flavor was decent i guess but they were really dry, and tiny too. The pinak bet was pretty bad. A bunch of russet and sweet potatoes mostly. Not much flavor. It irritated me that they call this an entray when it basically contained no meat. In sumary, the owners are new, perhaps they are trying to get it figured out. The prices here arent necessarily high, but they are not cheap either. My impression of the place is that they are trying too hard to maximize their profits at the expense of quality. The old CEO of continental airlines used to say that you can make a pizza so cheap no one wants to eat it. This, i have to say seems like some inexpensive pizza. It seems like they are making the cheapest food they possibly can that still almost qualifies as the cuisine they are trying to produce. Neither my wife nor i are even Philippino. If we notice, imagine how the locals will think? I hope it gets better. If not, i predict they will be closed in a year or less. We will be back in a couple months to give this place another chance. For now however, i would say the experience was a bust. Blah! read more

So excited I found this place thanks to a local FB classifieds page! Now I don't have to drive 30 minutes to the Hong Kong market for my Lumpia wrappers. The staff here were so helpful as well.
