Pancit!!! I've been wanting pancit for so long and I finally found a place that makes it! It was 8/10; very good, greasy, some fat with the pork(I don't like any fat texture). I also ordered pork egg rolls and they were good as well, fresh and crispy. A pleasant staff and good food. Small establishment, but doesn't take away from the delectable meals you can get.

Their halo halo is NOT a halo halo. It's banana, ice, langka, milk, and a small flan. I'm so disappointed

-newest review- OK I wanted to come back and give this place another chance because I really wanted to support them. I bought "halo-halo" (check the gallery) for what I got instead after being made to wait behind other people that were in line after me. No beans, no other fillings, no ube..etc. I was shocked and asked, "THIS is a halo halo?" Had they told me it was just banana and, ice, milk, and a little flan I probably would have just said no since I can make that at home without buying the premise jars. I'm so tired of giving this place a chance. If you don't have something, offer an alternative or offer a refund. Don't just assume a customer will be ok with it. --review no. 2-- Y'all there is nothing I hate more than unprofessionalism. What once was a 4.5 star review I am taking down to 2. Their hours are listed at opening at 9 am today and after taking our time to drive there at 11am , they end up "not ready" without any food out. Told us to come back later. By the way this is the SECOND time this has happened. Sorry, but I don't think we will be coming anytime soon anymore. ---old review--- Let me preface this by saying: this is not a restaurant, and there is no buffet when we got there. Just good ol' a la carte service like Pugon de Manila--another Pinoy food place we frequent. My review is based on the expectations I have of an a la carte canteen instead of a restaurant. We ordered 2 two-entree combos which came with two lumpia rolls and a choice of either rice or pancit. Each order cost $8. Definitely inexpensive. The serving size fit the price and filled us up with a little bit of leftovers. -Dinuguan was pretty good. Just slightly salty and not as fatty as the other review made it out to be. -Chicken curry is pretty good, less aromatic than the Indian version (tailored to Filipino tastebuds imo) -Monggo bean soup had a little too much pork fat and needed more monggo -Pinakbet was really yummy. It had the yellow squash, okra, and ampalaya expected or it. The place had a clean & organized small filipino grocery section, complete with homemade lumpia to buy/seasonings/noodles. When I spoke to the cashier they said they were planning on expanding it and I hope to get access to some longganisa soon. It's in Humble in an older shopping center by a bar and some other small businesses. Places around there close down frequently and it's easy to see why. The area is not the most attractive place to drive to. I hope they find a way to attract customers and continue the nice improvements because this part of town certainly could use some Filipino food eateries.

I really liked it. My 3-4 Filipino/a nurses do not. Not sure how to rate it, so I guess I just gotta rate it based on taste and service.

Really authentic Filipino food, all in a buffet or made-to-order. My faves are adobo, dinuguan, and of course, turon for dessert.

My BMP calamansi margarita was distinct in its tanginess. Tried the veggie lumpias and brussel sprouts. The lumpias had tangy dipping sauce that might have been dominated by calamansi. More tang than savory. The brussel sprouts were standard but had a good portion. I tried to detect whether they used fish sauce but I couldn't tell. Ordered the daing na bangus (milkfish) as my entree. They gave me the whole fish and it threw me off that it was mostly deboned since I kept looking for the bones with my tongue and teeth. Fish was nice and crispy and the dipping sauce was more savory than what came with the lumpias. The garlic rice that came with the dish was smoky from that wok hay. Probably could have used a little more soy sauce for flavouring. My favourite dish was the turon dessert (fried bananas) along with the ube ice cream. The coconut sauce they used seemed more like caramel. I haven't eaten much Filipino food so I wasn't sure how authentic the dishes were. I was expecting a little more intensity in the flavours, and I don't know if it was toned down for their customers. There were around ten customers that night. The inside was beautiful and they have a two level patio that is perfect for nights like these. The service was very nice and the kitchen was faster than I expected.

This time around, we ordered the Ilocano Pinakbet, Pancit Bihon, Beef Kare Kare, Garlic Fried Rice, and the Halo Halo for dessert. Beef Kare Kare was flavorful and delicious, but had 2 small pieces of meat and a huge piece of fat. The Pinakbet wasn't as flavorful as it should've been. The bitter melon was undercooked so it was extra bitter and the pumpkin texture was off, like it was ripe and a fresh fruit-like texture instead of a potato-like texture. The Halo Halo was of course awesome. Staff are very friendly. Our waitress Majoko (I think that was her name) was very friendly and welcoming. However, after trying out some of their dishes today, I'm quite disappointed. Now, the service was quite good (although I had to tell the lady thrice to cancel an item and add another). We got the lechon kawali, beef tagalog (along with garlic rice), and the pancit bichon for take out, and I was surprised at how expensive the meal was. For reference, I frequent the other Filipino restaurant in town (RR Pinoy), and it is leagues ahead of this place in terms of food quality, taste, and price. At Kuya, the portion size of the lechon was quite small for the price (especially when compared to RR Pinoy) and it was a bit harder than the lechon at RR Pinoy (maybe over-fried?). The beef tagalog was okay, and the garlic rice was really average (even though they charged a lot for it). It was made mostly with garlic powder, not real garlic. As for the pancit, it was the blandest portion of noodles I've ever had. I had asked for all the dishes to be spicy, but the pancit even lacked basic seasoning. It tasted like boiled meat, noodles and veggies. Extremely disappointed with the food, I won't be back. Go to RR Pinoy, folks!
