When I first contacted The Sewing Shop, I had already been in contact with several other shops that were too busy to take on my requested services. My phone call was excellent with such friendly demeanor, and all three of my visits were fun and enjoyable. I had no idea my dress needed as much work as it did and they still took on the project even after I misled them saying I only needed a slight alteration. The cost of the alterations were a bit too expensive but you are paying for the quality of work and years worth of experience from this husband and wife couple! The only thing that happened with my dress was that the bustle kept breaking buttons off the back of my dress but I believe this was entirely tied to how heavy my train was and how much jumping around dancing I was doing. The bustle before some buttons snapped was perfectly placed and the perfect length for me to walk around comfortably!

Jacqueline saved the day! True to many brides' actual nightmares - I had a wedding dress fiasco a…read moremere few weeks away from my wedding! The seamstress had added pea-sized buttons on my derrière, where buttons did not previously exist. Jacqueline was not only quick to respond, but was able to fix my problem in less than 15 minutes. This, I see, as a victory, because the seamstress who I went to in the first place had looked me dead in the eye when I told her I didn't like the outcome of my dress, and asked her to remove the buttons, and said "I can't do that. It's sewn on." Jacqueline was not only pleasant to chat with as she quickly brought me back from wedding nightmare dreamscape, but she walked me through exactly what she was doing. Her space was cozy and clean. Her attitude was very welcoming and funny. She is clearly an expert in the space. During my final dress fitting, she worked on my dress with it on my body for almost 2 hours until she got the final look and fit we both wanted.
