Sarah was our daughter's therapist and---inevitably, informally, my therapist--during two very difficult years in our lives, while she was a student at a therapeutic boarding school. I also observed in true detail her commitment to two other girls I know well, and whose mothers I also grew to know well during this period.
I do not know how we could possibly have made the progress we did, or endured the challenges we faced, without Sarah--Sarah, in particular, and not simply this school, which is extraordinary on every level and much diminished when she headed home to open her own practice.. Sarah has a wisdom beyond her years--wisdom one might associate with age and decades of experience, but without the sticky, sluggish tendencies notable in so many (over) seasoned mental health professionals.
She brings exuberance, optimism, and infinite patience to the care of this especially difficult age group. Her love for the girls, and her intense affection and compassion for their parents, is beyond question---I don't know where she gets the reserves for it, but she does--I have never known a therapist (my children and I have had our share!) with whom I felt so immediately comfortable and safe--nor has my daughter ever had a therapist who understood her so well and guided her with such a steady hand.
I would recommend Sarah, without any reservation whatsoever, to any family dealing with the pain and confusion of a teenager in trouble, whether she be your choice to care for your child (and you as well by so doing), or simply to offer independent support to you. I am 61 years old, and I have had therapy myself--with very good people. And I have the tools now to go without. But I badly needed help dealing with this situation, and Sarah provided truly remarkable support and guidance -life saving in some ways really.
I have never written a Yelp review for a therapist--but this one is one in a million. read more
