Can't recommend Henderson Academy of Music enough and it's so nice to have them so close by!!

I started out playing violin when I was 4 years old but quit at the age of 10 :( Last spring I decided to come back to it full-power again after about 15 years of not playing so you can imagine it was not so easy to get back to it. But Beverly made it the best experience possible. She very quickly came up with a "system" that works best for me to regain my skill set. Now I'm back on track with my favorite instrument and even playing in an orchestra in West Seattle! If you are looking for an instructor who is patient, experienced and fun to learn from, you should check her out. I'll give her 10 stars if I can but yelp only allows 5 so. Happy learning and don't ever give up!

Beverly's wonderful because she can take one look at you and give you the exact feedback necessary to improve your playing. She's patient, but honest and constructive. I know she's great with children, but if you're an adult ready to come back to the instrument, or an adult beginner, I highly recommend Beverly as an instructor. She'll put you at ease as soon as you step through those doors.

She can't stop talking about it all week, dances wherever she is, and always looks forward to her next class. There are about 5 other kids in her class. Teacher Eva is great with the kids, and parents get to sit and watch in the lobby area on the tvs if they choose to stick around. The lobby area seems to be a bit small and can get a little crowded between classes as parents drop off or pick up, but my daughter loves it so much we enrolled her for the 23/24 year in a ballet/tap/tumble class. I also have nothing else to compare it to, so I have no idea how big other places are or if they provide a peek into the dance classes with the tv, but I like that this is offered here!

Everyday they came home excited about the day's activities. Below are their thank you's to the staff last week. We look forward to another camp next summer. - Brett I found the School of Rock Camp to be extremely worthwhile. Most of the instructors there were very helpful and understanding. Our instructors regularly checked in on us when we were working on our songs. At the beginning of the week I honestly did not think that I could progress as far as I did at the end of the week with my three songs. I thought that the School of Rock's environment was very good as well. All in all, I had a wonderful time at the School of Rock's camp. ~Son (14 years old) Bassist The school of Rock camp was really great. I made at least one new friend and learned some new games. Plus I learned a new song and got better at ghost notes. Overall I think I would want to go back next summer and do it again. - Daughter (11 years old) Drummer

We've been so happy with the work you and your team have put into my son. His love of music is…read morepalpable ever since he started with ya'll. Even more impressive to me is his new budding understanding of music theory and his ability to apply what he learns at School of Rock to multiple instruments. Just the other week he wrote his first song on our keyboard that mainly collects dust.....and it really sounded great! I can only credit that to the skill set he's developing with School of Rock! I, on the other hand, have been blown out of the water with my bass teacher, Evan. He is hands down the best music teacher I've ever had. I was a bit nervous to begin taking lessons again as an adult....mainly because I know I had developed some "bad habits" in playing, lost a lot of the knowledge of music theory I had prior to taking a 10ish year hiatus from playing but I also don't have a ton of interest in relearning how to sight read (or even read sheet music at all since tabs are so readily available now compared to when I was a young whipper snapper ). Evan makes learning fun, he's clearly passionate about what he does and it comes across in every interaction I have with him as well as anytime I see him interacting with another student. I appreciate so much that he does not force me to learn to read music or memorize scales, but rather takes a very pragmatic approach with me going over shapes, teaching me compositions that aren't just fun to play but improve my skill set and ability to apply what we go over to multiple aspects of playing bass (and any instrument really). Last night for example, my son finished his lesson a little ahead of me and Evan warmly welcomed him into our lesson, included him in conversation and generally treated him with kindness and respect rather than an irritating little kid which was the impression I got from many of my early music teachers. I can not say enough good things about the team at School of Rock in lynnwood. Whether you're looking for your child, or looking for yourself it is an amazing experience and worth every Penny.

Rebecca reminded me that I was a musician and that I am talented. She uses her musical knowledge and background to provide individualized sessions. I have been working with her for over a year and will forever be grateful for the tools she has has given me.
