Where do I begin? From the second I walked in Sarah's studio, I instantly felt like I made the right choice. Boudoir had been something I've wanted to do for years, but continually talked myself out of it (usually because I didn't feel like my body was "ready" or "good enough"). Doing a maternity boudoir shoot was a perfect first step for multiple reasons, but mainly because I don't know that I'll ever be pregnant again so I needed to seize my opportunity. I am awkward in front of the camera. I don't know what to do with my face or my body or my arms- Sarah took all that awkwardness away by instructing me on what to do, how to move, and also encouraging me throughout by saying things like "yes! gorgeous! omg I love!". This took away all the insecurities and fears, and ultimately made me truly believe I was doing the damn thing and going to LOVE the photos. *spoiler alert* I DO LOVE THEM! Veronica and Sarah have this magic energy that makes you feel like you're catching up with old friends while preparing for your shoot (hair and make-up) and making you feel beautiful in your skin (see my review on Vero Leigh!). After having Sarah take my engagement and wedding photos, I felt completely confident that Sarah would capture beautiful, captivating, and natural-looking photos, but my goodness, I did not anticipate they would be THAT GOOD. Veronica knows her way around a makeup kit making me look and feel flawless, and Sarah fangirled so hard, making me feel so comfortable and beautiful in my skin. They really focus on you feeling so beautiful and empowered the entire session and make sure that you know this moment is for YOU. I'm usually super picky about my hair and makeup, but Veronica absolutely knocked it out of the park and I truly felt like a rockstar. Also, Sarah makes sure that you feel so comfortable being yourself in the space and coaches/guides you through every pose and position so you feel wonderful. I'll also call out that I absolutely loved the atmosphere of support and consent. They both cheer you on in every moment, and ask for permission to fix every stray hair and tag. This was my SECOND boudoir shoot with Sarah B and it was pure confirmation for me that I need to let Sarah and Veronica do their magic every couple of years. It's EMPOWERING. It's fun. It's sexy. It is a huge reminder that MY body is beautiful. My first boudoir session was a gift for someone else but I enjoyed it more than the person whom I gifted the photobook too. (what the heck, right?!) Like most people, I was a bit nervous about a boudoir shoot but she was incredibly supportive and helpful and made me feel like a rockstar the entire time.
