I see all kinds of seafood dishes passing under my nose to other tables. They are all beautiful and large portions. I'd love to try them but since my kid doesn't like seafood, whenever I'm with her I'll order something that she might want to share with me. Tonight my nephew had the Spaghetti Carbonara, which was wonderful! A large portion with creamy egg sauce (no milk products in this creamy sauce) and lots of crispy pancetta to flavor the meal. I wish I could get THIS recipe right when I'm home! My daughter usually goes for the Pizza Margarita, and she did. Good pizza but nothing spectacular. It was a basic, crispy, wood-oven pie with plain tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella, which my kid always adjusts with a healthy sprinkling of grated parmigiano reggiano grated cheese (the real stuff, not Kraft Parmesan sawdust!) I had a Strozzapreti pasta dish made with fresh sausage and wild mushrooms. Another fantastic pasta dish although my nephew's Carbonara was killer and the better of the 2, we both thought. No room for dessert tonight, not even at the nearby, homemade gelato shop. Service was quick & polite; quick being the more important of the 2 since Italy is known for their intentionally slow, unrushed service. This restaurant rocks and I'm hoping to make it back here for another fine meal before I leave.

With crust that was simply perfection and cheese that brings the whole thing home, trust me, my foodies, you just can't go wrong with this one.

But (try this technique) by walking between tables seeing what people were eating, the pizza looked solid. Nice balance of ingredients to crust, alluring. Little was I to know, what a fantastic pizza this would be. The best pizza of my life (well, next to Da Michele's double buffalo mozz in Naples). I don't know if I got lucky, and all the pizza stars aligned when they threw this one together (the table next to me had multiple pizzas come around the same time, but none looked this great), but this scamorza cheese (a lot like mozzarella, but lightly smoked), eggplant, black olive and sublime sausage pizza was one of the most superb creations I've ever eaten. It puts most every other "dish" I've ever had on the back burner, because with most dishes, each bite tastes the same as the last, but with this pizza, every bite was different than the last, and each phenomenally delicious - - just spurring you on until you've enhaled the whole thing, and were supremely glad you did. Went pizza shopping tonight, from place to place (walk through restaurants, and see what they are serving, and what people are eating - - a real education), and finally settled on a very popular place where the pizzas looked OK (if not maybe a bit overly wide) and it was decent - - but it made me pine for the pizza from le Delizie. I mean, at le Delizie the topography was lovely - - no square inch of the 'za was like any other - - each bite had a different concentration of ingredients and a different texture. And even the edges around the crust were to die for, with wonderful light stretch and crunch, and still succulently moist, with a ravenously delicious red sauce (look how it glistens near the crust in the picture I'll attach). This pizza was absolute, total, perfection. Every bite of this pizza was luscious. It cost 7 Euro (plus 2 Euro coperto); the 1/2 liter of sparkling wine from a spigot was cheap, zingy, and refreshing. And after the meal there is a complementary carafe of limoncello, and the service was adept. I mean, for chrissakes, every "Italian" place in the States is nowhere in the same ballpark as a place like this. I'll keep pounding the pavement looking for something in Rimini even close to this standard [wait, no, I'm going back tomorrow - - I've learned my lesson.] .
