Lots of restaurants are closed now as the season has finished, but we were glad La Soffita was still open. The food was fabulous - we had spaghetti carbonara, and spaghetti bolognese, both delicious. We both love garlic, and thought the Italians used lots of it, but we've had very little in the few days we have been here. So we must learn some Italian, as we did have to laugh when we asked the waiter if he understood the English word garlic, and we were going to ask for extra. My husband had to mime stinky, smelly breath, and he said "ah yes" and went. We laughed thinking he probably thought we didn't want any, because it smells. 2 minutes later he came with a plate with 4 garlic cloves on it! We politely thanked him, and looked at each other and laughed. We proceeded to cut it up, and when our spaghetti arrived we added it At the end of the meal the waiter brought over 2 bottles of liqueur, and 2 glasses. One of the liqueurs was a banana flavour, and to die for. This was on the house, and very much appreciated.
