I told her several times that whatever solution she was using was burning and that it was hurting. She continued to remove the lashes with tweezers and an unknown solution. I am back now, the following morning to ask what solution was used so that I never come here again or have this mistake made elsewhere and the lady at the front almost refused to show me what was used. She kept going back and forth with me, asking why I needed to see what was used. I told her so that I can go to the eye doctor because my eyes are still irritated and hurting today. She goes into a room, and comes out with a cream remover and would not show me the box it came in and said it's "their" brand. I believe she showed me something completely different than what was used to remove my lash extensions, but I will never return. I would be weary of coming here as they did not use safe sanitation practices and are shady. $36 for lash removal and most likely now have an eye infection and possible chemical injury. I have never had pain or burning like I did yesterday with lash removal. These women do not care about client care or comfort. Would not recommend coming here for lash application or removal. Rude, unprofessional and unsafe!

I figured it was maybe just a drop of glue that may have gotten in my eye, and that it would go away. Gradually, the problem got worse and spread to my right eye. By Sunday night (June 9th), I woke up to find that both my eyes had reached the worse that they had been. My eyes were swollen, red, and now kept watering, limiting visibility. I immediately went t to Glow Beauty Lounge's website to book the first available appointment. The earliest available was at 9am, but their schedule showed that they open the shop at 8am. Throughout the night onto the early morning hours I called the telephone number of the business to try to get an emergency eyelash removal --sooner than 9am. I continued wash my eyes with water throughout the night and use paper towel to catch the drainage that continued. At around 6am on Monday, June 10th, I received a text message reply to my voice message and texts sent, telling me to go to Glow's Beauty Lounge's website to see their availability and to book an appointment online. Again, I replied and stressed that it was an emergency and that I may have to go to the ER if the lashes aren't removed immediately. About two hours later I received a second text message that stated that an employee will be at the salon by 9:15am. Again, I reminded the person who texted me that it was an emergency. I let the person know via text that I have been waiting at the salon (since 8am), but I received no reply. Since the middle of the night to early morning of Monday, a total of 7 calls were placed to the number of the person who texted me (the number listed on the website for the business). The phone continued to ring and then go to voice message. The employee, who I think has the name of Tammy, removed the lashes and my eyes are still swollen. She insisted that it's an allergic reaction to the glue. If that was the case, the last time they did my lashes with them, the same thing would have occurred. It didn't! I think it's more of a more recent sanitation practices problem. Posting pics with lashes and after they were removed. And on top of everything, they did not even offer me a refund for the eyelashes!

The few other times I have fond memories of a relaxing facial was years ago, when I was in Florida. I went in for her recommended facial after she spent time assessing my skin and asking what were my skin goals. I really appreciated her explaining her process to me and its benefits and answering all my questions. Not only was the facial lovely, I got a lot of tips on how to care for my unique skin issues. She also made recommendations for step by step future skin care, peels etc. My skin looked and felt great and I definitely will be returning.

Then, by chance, I discovered 'Nuga Skin Clinic' through a friend's recommendation. I went there with a feeling of desperation, but the director, Amy, reassured me, saying, 'These days, we can make your skin brand new, so don't worry.' Encouraged by her words, I started the treatment. Even though my acne was severe, after just 1-2 sessions, there was a remarkable improvement in my skin texture, and from the third session onward, astonishingly, no more acne appeared. It was amazing to feel smooth skin instead of tiny acne bumps when I touched my face during showers. I have been receiving treatments at the clinic monthly for over a year and a half now, and when I wear makeup, even acne scars are no longer visible. I spent thousands of dollars over ten years trying various skincare products claiming to eliminate acne, but I deeply regret not coming to 'Nuga Skin Clinic' earlier. Nowadays, I enjoy going out so much, and my confidence and happiness soar every time I look in the mirror at my improved skin. Director Amy not only brightened and clarified my skin but also my soul. I sincerely thank the always kind 'Nuga Team.' For those struggling with skin issues, I highly recommend going to 'Nuga Skin Clinic.' They also have state-of-the-art equipment for facial treatments that are famous in Korea. My next goal is to try their Thermage treatment for skin elasticity. I now believe that beautiful skin is not something you are born with but something you can create. Let's all become beautiful and radiant!

I am sharing this to help others make an informed decision, especially those seeking acne or pigmentation care. While treatments sometimes provided short-term texture improvement, the overall experience felt stressful, unclear, and ultimately unprofessional rather than supportive. I came specifically for acne treatment and scar management. However, care frequently shifted away from these stated goals, with repeated comments about unrelated concerns and unsolicited suggestions for Botox and anti-aging packages. As a young woman who was not seeking anti-aging care, this felt inappropriate and reflective of toxic beauty standards rather than patient-centered treatment. Communication was inconsistent. Treatment plans changed between visits with little proactive explanation, and limitations or alternatives such as medical dermatology options like retinoids or hormonal evaluation were not clearly discussed. Instead, when results did not improve, I was repeatedly told that there was another package or newer treatment that would finally address the issue. This created a never-ending cycle of upgrades and add-ons, with no clear endpoint or explanation of why previous packages were no longer sufficient. I was also uncomfortable with professionalism and boundaries. During treatments, staff frequently held conversations, including about other customers, while I was present. At times, they openly discussed learning techniques or procedures with one another, which raised concerns about training standards in a setting marketed as expert-level care. Sanitation practices such as inconsistent glove use during extractions were another concern. There was also a noticeable dynamic where spending more money, tipping, or purchasing additional packages seemed tied to receiving more attentive care, which further blurred the line between medical-adjacent treatment and retail sales. We raised these concerns calmly and respectfully, hoping for clarification. Instead, we were met with defensiveness and blame, repeatedly told that it takes more than one session despite attending multiple sessions without improvement. There was no sincere apology, clear explanation, or acknowledgment of our experience, leaving us feeling invalidated and made to feel unreasonable for asking questions. I do not believe this is unique to one business. It reflects a broader issue in aesthetic skincare where medical-adjacent services rely on recurring packages and upgrades without clear ethical, educational, or accountability standards. Acne and scarring can reflect underlying hormonal or health issues and are often more effectively and affordably treated through medical dermatology. Aesthetic care can be a personal choice after root causes are addressed, but it should not replace transparent, hygienic, and professionally grounded care. I hope this helps others make a fully informed decision. I am willing to pay for expert care when it is transparent, ethical, and focused on long-term outcomes. However, after visits I often felt anxious and confused, later realizing I was kept in a cycle of ongoing packages that benefited the business more than my care. I give the benefit of the doubt that this was not intentional, but it is still not appropriate. Surface-level aesthetic care for short-term events may be fine, but treatments advertised as long-term solutions should not be expected to fix complex skin conditions. For true long-term care, medical dermatology is necessary.
