Currently rated #1 on HappyCow for Santiago, so we had to try this place out; and indeed, it was perhaps the best meal we had in Santiago.
To start, I got their lentil soup, a tomato-ey, slightly smoky, slightly spicy, hearty soup served with rustic bread on the side. This was very tasty, but a bit too salty.
For our mains, I got their pastelera, a traditional Chilean dish. This was frankly superb, though I have nothing to judge it against having not ever had this dish before. The textures and flavours were unique to me, and very harmonious -- great balance of sweet, savoury, and tangy.
My wife got a burrito, which delivered exactly as hoped. The chipotle mayo it was served with was particularly nice in its spiciness and depth.
Very friendly, astute service, being patient with us as we used broken Spanish and Google Translate. Recommended. read more
