This 3.5 mile drive is considered as one of Ireland's prettiest drives. The scenic road leading to the pass weaves around the edges of coastal cliffs and past blue glacial lakes. Prior to our visit we heard the horror stories of how dangerous this drive was. The drive really isn't that bad; although this was our third day of driving on the left side of the road! There were a few spots that were too narrow for two cars to pass at once, but we would just pull off the road in a passable spot and there were no issues. We approached several sheep in the middle of the road so be cautious as you make each turn. There is only one spot to pull off the road and take photos. It was very foggy on the morning that we were on Conor Pass, but I think the fog adds an eerie and romantic touch to the photos we took!

We visited the oratory via the public footpath to the south rather than the visitor center to the west, and mistakenly exited via the visitor center, where a rude man insisted we buy tickets despite there being no sign requiring tickets or naming prices. "Everyone does it," he said, as if that were a reason to do anything. Certainly unethical to require a fee after a visit with no information about the fee, and probably illegal.

It appeared to be another company that is family business that is handed down through the years to the next generation. The boat was comfortable and everyone was required to wear a life vest. Safety was acknowledged and routinely insisted on. We met our tour guide at Lord Brandon's Cottage. He was a very friendly gentleman with a great sense of humor. He had the entire boat laughing our way around the lakes. It was a beautiful day on the lake and we learned so much about the history along the way to our drop off point. I highly recommend taking this tour.

The huts are dwellings made of corbelled stone and without any mortar. They are impeccably constructed and are sturdy despite being ancient (2000 BCE)! We paid €3 apiece to tour the site. The small fee (with free parking) was well worth it! I highly recommend visiting if you're in/around beautiful Dingle: these ancient sites are unlike anything else and should be appreciated!

When we visited, we were the only ones there which made it very peaceful. The admission is pretty inexpensive at 2 euro per person. The owner at the B&B we stayed at in Dingle said to look at the inside of the port-a-potty door that you pass on the way up. There's a little note on the inside that should give you a bit of a laugh. 4 stars.

The Blasket Island Visitor Centre (Ionad an Bhlascaoid) is an interpretative center in Dún Chaoin,…read moreon the Dingle Peninsula (County Kerry) dedicated to the history, culture, and literary legacy of the former island community (abandoned in 1953). It features exhibits on the islanders' daily life, fishing, farming, and the famous literature produced there, such as Peig by Peig Sayers. The center offers an immersive experience with audiovisual displays, artifacts, interactive features, a cafe, and stunning views of the Great Blasket Island. Gayle and I loved the architecture of this Centre, along with a nice introduction video, a hallway honoring various authors from Great Blasket Island, and numerous displays that sliced this place in various different ways. There's one iconic view from the inside and a not-to-be missed observation platform outside. The only thing missing was taking one of the excursions (that leave from Dingle) to the Island itself. Don't miss the bookstore on the way out, where you can purchase a book (or 2) about the Island and from the authors who lived here. My choice was "The Loneliest Boy in the World" (The Last Child of the Great Blasket Island" by Gearóid Cheaist Ó Catháin.
