Santiago is a treasure! It is a small shop off the freeway, but roll through the gate and you know you are somewhere special. Awesome cars in every stage of completion. I hired him to patch interior and replace a zipper window on a Falcon Futura convertible. Small job but I was treated with dignity, care and sincere interest in the job. All pieces matched to perfection, with a very reasonable bill. Yep, you get it all, price, quality and excellent service. Next job, I brought in my '55 Thunderbird. I takes two men and a boy to put up either the hard or soft top. I asked Santy to make a Tonneau with a zipper running down the middle. The steering wheel pokes out above window rails and he finessed a perfect well to accommodate the wheel. Unzipping the tonneau, feeling the timeless quality of materials and construction is such a joy. The car has rolled topless ever since. Today, I finally have the money to do the interior and maybe the soft top. I love this car and am so excited for the chance to have Santy to do his magic! I hope he can make the time soon, I will post photos when job is done. One of the best parts of owning classic cars is meeting all the amazing talent available in this town. I recently went in to Santy's Upholstery to get my bench seats for my 1968 Impala reupholstered. I initially only went in just for a quote. I saw some of the work the shop had around and I liked what they did. So I decided to just leave the seats to have them upholstered. Since I had already gotten a few other quotes from other shops and this was a bit cheaper than the rest. I spoke to Santiago (I'm assuming he's the owner) and he was a straight up nice guy. He gave me the run down of what was going to get done on the seats. All I did was choose the color and style I wanted and I pretty much left the rest to them. I dropped the seats off on a Friday around noon. Santiago asked me when I needed them and if I was in a hurry to get them back. I told him that I wasn't in a hurry and to take his time. He said ok and gave me an estimated time of one week to complete. We agreed and left it at that. I called the following Wednesday to ask about the progress on the seats and I was told that they weren't started on yet. I was a bit surprised but at the same time I did tell them to take their time. So the completion time was extended another week. I was fine with that since I wasn't in a hurry and was curious about the transformation of the seats. 3 days after I called I received a phone call early in the morning telling me that the seats were done. I was really surprised that they were done in 2 days and that they were done in the original timeframe I was given. When I went into the shop to pick up my seats I saw them and was extremely happy in how the seats came out. They looked incredible. Complete night and day difference from what the original condition was. I really recommend this place if you need to have the interior of your car upholstered. You will not be disappointed. read more

Santy and Art are a pleasure to work with and their results are exceptional. My '53 Porsche was in really sad shape with the interior still in it from when I bought it back in 1969. I wanted to fix it up for my youngest daughter. They did a great job and saw to it the windows and gas tank were installed. I Went there about a year and a 1/2 ago to see if he could fix a broken cord in a convertible top, and I was thinking about having him do another car of mine. But he and his worker were so incompetent and unprofessional working on the convertible top, I ran out as fast as I could. Basically I had to show them how to do the repair.. Not that I had ever done it before, I just looked at the other side of the top and followed the court on that side. They weren't even smart enough to do that. And in the process they got oil on my leather headliner and then said they couldn't clean it because they didn't have the supplies. What upholstery place doesn't have leather cleaner or some 409??? My suggestion, if it's the same owner and the same worker or even the same owner and any worker, avoid this place at all costs. read more

You will be treated fairly here! I spoke with and went to a total of four shops for my issue. Some of them were sorta of a ripoff, but I had to take into consideration their location. This shop was a distinct difference from the rest. Santiago was a surgeon in dealing with my issues! He thoroughly assessed the job and provided a confident estimate of time and costs! I am reluctant to share diamonds in this city - so they don't get turned into something worthless. Santy Upholstery is a diamond! My long time auto detailer recommended I take my 13 year old car to Santy's Upholstery Shop in Hawthorne to get the driver's side leather bucket seat reupholstered. Santy was not sure he could get the new leather to match the 13-year-old leather in the rest of the car, but when I picked the car up two days later it looked just like it did when it was brand new and Santy had found replacement leather that was almost a perfect match to the old leather. I had them replace the drooping headliner of my 2005 Lotus Elise. I left the top with them and they had it done the next day at a great price too. Looked perfect. A small job but I wouldn't hesitate to have them do something much larger. They had a 21 window VW bus in the shop that they had redone the interior on that was beautiful. read more

Sorry this review is a 1 1/2 after my job was complete but my other review must have been lost. These guys are great to work with. Back in November of 18 took my 1952 Chevrolet bel-air to them for complete interior,. The great thing about them is they work one one car at a time in a very clean shop and that was important to me. Santiago has been doing this for many years and had some great ideas on top of mine. Great job that took about 4 weeks. Would recommend him for all your interior needs. read more
