Its a family run business that really does pride itself on making you feel welcome once inside. I've traveled quite extensively around Greece and this place really does its best to reflect the hospitality you get out there. We always go there for lunch and have a couple of lamb Souvlakis as it really does take you back to Athens! They do a lot of dishes for two to share at some really good prices. I saw a seafood mixed grill float past me that looked really impressive. Great for large parties but do watch out for the Ouzo - it catches up on you after a few!

The staff are all really friendly and can't do enough to make sure your evening is fun and enjoyable. The lamb dishes in here are really good indeed. Last time I was there I had the pomegranate lamb which was thinly cut, Juicy lamb chops, char-grilled and served with a gravy of Pomegranate juice. Very different and very nice indeed.

And that's all it took for me to open the door and realize that everything I'd assumed about Best Meze Grill was incorrect and everything I'd heard about Best Meze Grill (those two sentences above) was spot on. Lots of things arriving at my table free of charge is always a way to my heart. Best Meze Grill complied first with the onion salad, olives, lavash, and more. From there we segued into what we'd ordered: Cabernet and Beer (Efes) paired with a Hot Mixed Meze (£17.95; ample for 2) featured a host of delicious tastes: feta straws, falafel, small fried fish, sausage, whitefish bites, and haloumi. The Ezme Salad (£7.25) featured tomatoes, onions, peppers, and pomegranate, a mix that surely was the nectar of Turkish gods. Each Mediterranean country seems to have their own version of a similar salad; The Ezme almost had me booking a flight to Turkey. I never got around to "the meat". A second tray of complimentary treats arrived in place of the dessert not ordered. Featuring fresh fruits and sweet Turkish nibbles, this was the ideal close to a quite perfect meal. My husband is Greek American and seriously into good food. We felt welcomed warmly in this busy restaurant from the moment we walked in. We ordered way too much but ate it all. There was a gap between started and main, because the place was full with a really interesting mixture of diners. We enjoyed everything. A great experience!
