The service was good, but they were not in a hurry to get us out. So it was a long, languid dining experience. Loved all of the food and the amazing dessert. We'll be back to try one of their many risotti.

We ordered four of their massive pasta plates - meat ravioli with tomato sauce, a stuffed cheese pasta that I didn't recognize with tomato sauce, penne parisienne, and tagliatelle bolognese. Bread basket was nothing to write home about but came with two interesting spreads - both anchovy/sardine based. Tasty if you're into that but otherwise stick to the butter. Ordering was easy and our pasta was served quickly. Everything was family style but our waiter portioned the pastas onto each plate (which spared us splattering sauces all over the table and ourselves; much appreciated!). The ravioli were a little bit of a miss - too thick with too little filling but still tasty. Bolognese was meaty and well balanced while the tagliatelle was al dente. Penne parisienne was not to my tastes (very creamy/cheesy with brasilian sliced ham and peas) but it was loved by all my brasilian friends. My surprise favorite was the stuffed envelope type pasta that I couldn't get the name of. I'm not sure where it ranks on the Italian food scale for Brasil/São Paulo (tasted like 3 stars to me) but the service was efficient and accommodating of our large group. They split the bill 14 ways without a problem and we all had our fill for about 35R$ including tax/gratuity. Atmosphere was classy but the clientele was mixed - families with young children, young couples, and older folks on a date night.

It's evident from the moment you walk through the door that whoever is behind the increasingly popular Brazilian chain is from Italy. The atmosphere is quaint and comfortable, and the open front allows for some great interaction with the staff behind the scenes. Service is quick and friendly even if you don't speak Portuguese. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Oh my good lord. I'd been told that Brazil was expensive, but I wasn't expecting this. Yes, it was during the World Cup, which I imagine has warranted something resembling of a 40% premium, but $16.50 for this? http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1yw18_mF6v44yZm7Q7ICcw&userid=OKX-V5j_qfuOebeHeWGrHg Yikes. No. Too much. No Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? It really was very good irrespective of the price. Risotto is often tough to really get right, but this was the perfect blend of perfectly cooked grain with generous chunks of beef and thin slices of mushroom that were huge. It all came together in a blend that needed just a bit of parmesan, but delivered. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? If I could afford it? Yes, but I can't, and it's not because it's a fancy place rather than one that is simply overpriced. No Star Granted.

But coming here for the bday dinner before drunkenly Karaoke'ing in Liberdade was one (or two) of the best decisions during this trip. The language barrier was not too overbearing, but we had been in the country a few days at this point, so we knew a few key words to get us going, also the guy that greeted us at the front (whom was very well dressed might I add) was super nice and helpful in ensuring we had everything we needed for an amazing dining experience. The Caprisi salad: Delicious. The Bruschetta: Awesome. The Pizzas: Phenominal! I had no idea Brazil was so big on pizza, they're everywhere! Something this pizza-lover was very happy to find out. Aside from the exquisitely delectable food offerings, the decor was one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been in. There is this exotic, outdoorsy - garden feel to it (it IS an indoor joint tho) truly a beautiful space. I dream of returning to Brazil one day and hopefully this amazing restaurant will still be around to help me relive that beautiful, culinary smorgasbord we experienced the first time around.
