We play at Muni Gym on Tuesdays, the leagues are well run, balanced and there are plenty of divisions to choose from. We love that there are rarely forfeits and league standings/scores are usually updated the night of games or within 24 hours. Leagues run year round without break except for playoffs which is nice to keep up our fitness. They also have leagues in other areas of the county which is cool. The league admin staff is very helpful with scheduling byes or special game times unlike other leagues, other leagues we played with in the past don't seem to have the customer service level or experience that San Diego Basketball has.

My son played 3 seasons…read moreof soccer before he decided he did not want to play any longer, due to a lack of interest in soccer and wanting to only play baseball. In all of the different seasons they have played between them there has only been one bad coach, but that is not the fault of the league as they are just volunteers at the rec level. My daughter will be playing during the upcoming spring season and will be with her same coach she had during the Fall season per our request. Scott one of the best rec coaches the league has for the division she is in. I always recommend Crusaders to anyone that is looking to put their child into soccer.

Our Experience with the Crusader Soccer League…read more We had a terrible experience with the Crusader Soccer League before we even set foot on the field for the first practice. As several other parents have already warned, this organization had no warmth and was completely unwilling to issue refunds even though it was not our fault. If you try to ask for one, expect to be shamed, argued with, and stonewalled. Unless you're literally being rushed to the hospital or deployed overseas, there's no reason they'll bend for you. They'll gladly pocket the $150‑plus registration fees. Our interactions with multiple employees were especially disheartening. Communication was cold and combative, seemingly designed to make the process as painful as possible. Prospective families should be aware that the league does not accept in‑person birth certificates (Not shown anywhere on their site); they force you to upload the document to their online system and then trust that the child's digital safety will be protected. (Ironically, the system is known to have bugs that let you sidestep this requirement entirely, yet they still expect your trust...) We were disgusted by the lack of care and transparency and if there's any positives here, we're just relieved we won't be tied to this league for years to come. Enjoy the money we needed, hopefully it was worth it Crusaders.

I was here for my nephew's practice so I strolled around and noticed there was very little trash, fresh paint in the bathroom and a tidy field. The grass was hideous, but typical for a public park. My kids' coaches all have been terrific, supportive, and positive in their coaching. My youngest daughter has learned so much and had so much fun with her teammates. My oldest was brand new to soccer when he started at 10 but his coach helped him learn a ton and catch up with his teammates. Great league. It is important for those signing to to know that the coaches are volunteers. So there is likely a wide range of attitudes and coaching styles. But we have been very fortunate in the coaches we've been randomly assigned. I do wish the fields at McEvoy (where younger kids play) were better maintained. I suspect this is a city issue.
