Abbey, or Abbey National as it was previously known has recently been taken over by Santader - a large European banking institution. However currently this hasn't affected any of it's problems and neither of the accounts I have with the Abbey have been a concern. The branch is very small, and they have occupied this location for years, however it is user friendly for those who are disabled, and generally smiling assistants faces can be seen adoring the place. My main complaint is when you withdraw money and they advise rather loudly the amount you are taking out - not the most pleasing thing when all and sundry are stood around you!
