We never had a bad experience at Santana's. This has been our go to place for dinners several week's in a row as we were helping family move. Always consistent and always good service, it was a solid choice for us. It's not what I would consider authentic Mexican food but it's quality food and it tastes great. This review is for the new location in Martinsville. Let's just say, the "curse" of the location continues. Not the server's fault, but extremely slow with drinks and food coming out from bar and kitchen. Food seems "old" and the "fresh" vegetables on the salad were anything but. We had high hopes. One of us had experienced Santana's catering a number of times with work related events- and that was fine. This, was not. I can't imagine we'll be back, sadly. Today was our first time there. We were invited by friends and quickly the restaurant made us feel like family. They were quick to serve, and stayed on top of our entire experience. We stayed longer than we normally would at a restaurant, but we were spending time with each other. Even after we paid, they continued to stay on top of any want or need we may have. The atmosphere, service, and food were all delicious. I usually say if you eat at one Mexican place, you have eaten that them all. Here it's not true. We definitely will be returning here. read more

One of my favorites here in Eden is Great atmosphere and great people. I have a service dog, and they treat me just as if I was any other customer. It can get frustrating to explain their rights and responsibilities, but they know and respect the laws. I am never disappointed with the food, and I am regular there for a reason. read more

Food was fair at best. Service was substandard. Ambiance is ok. The server took 15 minutes to bring a drink, and left dirty dishes from another table on our table before we were ready to leave. I went there for lunch today and will never go back. The restraunt not very busy yet the food took forever to come out once we ordered. When the burgers came out they were not made how we ordered them. Got sent back only to come out wrong again. It took 4 times for them to make the burger right with the proper toppings as ordered and each time was quite the wait. Fries cold and had to get new ones. No consideration was given even after speaking with manager. I was discusted and will never go again. I highly reccommend not eating here. read more

this was my first time visiting this restaurants I will never go here again I was very disappointed in the service I had to ask three or four times to get silverware and straws, when the food came half of it was cold. some refried beans was ordered so that my 10 month old could eat with the family there was a piece of plastic found in them the manager on duty acted like she didn't care.. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have been in restaurant management for many years, therefore when I walk into a restaurant I observe wait staff, cleanliness of restaurant, amount of time it takes for me to be greeted once I have sat down and by far this restaurant gets an A plus in all the categories listed above. Management was attentive to all of her customers including large parties confirming that everyone was happy with their service. Food was delicious and hot and we received it quickly. Last fall I attended same restaurant for an engagement party and I received same wonderful service. No matter how many people they need to cater to, management and wait staff make you feel welcome and want to make sure you have the best experience possible. Since I am a GM for a restaurant I always like to give credit when credit is due!! Writing about the location in Danville Va. which is not listed. We ate here because it is attached to the hotel we were staying at. The service was friendly and responsive. Prices were reasonable given the portion size. They sang happy birthday to my niece and put a big sombrero on her head. Unfortunately, the food was bland overall. I ordered steak fajitas and the fajitas at Chili's actually tasted better. My wife got a cheesy chicken dish she said was decent. My biggest issue was the special they had on draft domestic beer for $1.99 a pint. I ordered a pint of Yuengling Lager. When the bill came, they charged $5 for the beer. When my wife asked what happened, they said only Budweiser and Coors were considered domestic beers. First of all, they should have been more specific on the sign promoting this "special." Secondly, a lesson in geography is needed. Yuengling is family owned and brewed in Pottsville, PA. Budweiser is owned by a huge multinational corporation. As a proud Pennsylvanian, I am offended that Yuengling, which is not an expensive hipster craft beer, is not considered domestic. read more

I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone especially as an event venue!!!! As an event coordinator I have thrown several party's & never been so disappointed in the customer service received by the management and staff at Santana's! Everytime I called the venue to ask questions about the room & set-up of how the room would be, I was given a different answer. This was extremely frustrating, due to their lack of organization this made my job twice as difficult. Upon arrival, the room reserved for the party was 80 degrees & NOTHING was set up!!!!!! Chairs were in a corner stacked on top of each other - tables were scattered throughout the room and linens not even on the tables!!! We were "told" upon arrival everything would be set up so all we would need to do is decorate! Not the case!!! As there was NO MANAGER ON SITE for several hours, my assistant, the ONE server on site, & myself had to scramble to put this room together (3 women- moving 65 chairs / tables was not our responsibility !!!!!) To make matters worse Santana's charged EXTRA for linens $3 per linen and over half the linens we unfolded were DIRTY!!!!! We saw HAIR, DUCK TAPE, & RESIDUAL SALSA on them from who knows when!!!! As a result we barely got the room set up before guest arrival!!! After we had already asked several times for the staff to please turn on the AC we realized it was BROKEN!!!!!!! Here we were in the middle of AUGUST in a room surrounded by Windows and a very hot sun !!!!!! Needless to say the guest of honor as well as her entire guest list, were sweating throughout the entire event!!! Furthermore, not only did Santana's charge a ridiculous price for room rental, but an ADDITIONAL charge for food per person!!!! Again, I have done many events and I have NEVER heard of this! The venue usually requires a minimum to be met with food/drinks and waives the charge of the room when this minium is met (which this party far exceeded $1350 in food alone). Throughout the event, the server who was assigned to this room, was nowhere to be found. On multiple occasions my assistant & I had to go hunt her down for various reason such as - we ran out of food, plates, forks, napkins, ice, beverages- essentially everything! I had already been told by one manager we could have a certain type of music for this "themed event." However, with the manager on duty I was told we could not - and I cannot help but to believe it was out of spite! As a result she left the room in pure silence saying "it's broken"!!!!!! I have spent my fair spare of days in the restaurant industry and due to the sanitary level of this restaurant - had the health department walked in- they would be mighty close to a shut down!!!!! The floor was so dirty everyone's shoes were sticking to the bottom of it, dead insects alined the window seal, leftover food covered the chairs, the salt & pepper shakers had dried salsa all over them prior to guest arrival, linens were filthy, and on and on! Practically everything that could go wrong went wrong from the moment we booked this venue to the moment we left the event!!! When speaking with management about the issues we encountered we got nothing but excuses and attitude with no apology or offer for slight reimbursement- given ALL the mistakes on their end!!!! I have never been so disappointed in customer service in my entire life and absolutely shocked at how much they "think" they are worth!!!! What happened prior, during, and after this event is absolutely unacceptable!!!!! read more
