Pet Welfare is a no kill dog and cat rescue on Eglin AFB. They are a fully volunteer and donation…read morebased organization. Animals often come from military families that are no longer able to care for their animals or from surrounding areas. All pets are fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. I know some people have concerns about shelters, some say they are not honest. Pet Welfare is straight forward about all the pets they have. All cats and dogs have been to the vet, as frequently as needed for treatments, routine evaluations or acute concerns. They will not adopt out a pet with a known problem without disclosing it. They are an honest and loving group of volunteers that truly only want the best for the beloved animals. I can speak both as an adoptive doggie momma from this rescue and a dog volunteer, the volunteers truly love and care for these animals. They dogs are maintained in clean kennels and exercised regularly. We adopted our girl when she was brought to the shelter after being abandoned in a box with the rest of her litter mates as small puppies. My girl was so loved before we were lucky enough to bring her into our home. I am a big advocate for pet adoption. Shelter dogs have so much love to give. And the dogs at Pet Welfare are overflowing with love and potential. If you are toying with the idea of adoption you definitely need to check out the animals at Pet Welfare.

They will help you find the pet for you, you can just tell them what you want and by the way they have cats and dogs! Many adorable cats and with all kinds of personalities just like the dogs. The dogs were all ages and most really friendly and playful, the conditions aren't bad but of course I felt bad for them and wish I could take them all cause they need a home. They help you pick a good fit and have some one who will help see if the dog gets alone with any other pets and kids, also there's a little park you can play with them and see how friendly they are with you. I also looked at the cats for a while and they have a few babies, young and older ones. The people were so sweet and every one is volunteering! And better it's a no kill shelter!!! They really seem like they care and they will tell you everything they know about the dog and medical stuff so this is where I will be adopting from, I'm not sure which dog yet but I'm hoping when I play with some that I'll know, they also have all kinds of dogs big and small, they all need a home and it's 100$ to adopt I believe which Isn't bad and it's going to keeping up with a good place.

However, the front desk person firmly suggested that I pay for the rest of my party ahead of time, so I paid for 3 additional people. Unfortunately, 2 people from our party did not show up. When I asked for a refund for the 2 unused tickets, I was told they could not do that. I then politely asked if we could receive a credit for another visit since I had paid for tickets that were never used. The front desk person said they do not offer refunds or credits and pointed to a small note about the policy. My issue is that this policy was not clearly explained when I was encouraged to purchase the extra tickets before my full party arrived. We really enjoyed the cat playtime, and everyone working on the floor was wonderful. However, the customer service at the front desk was very disappointing. Because of how this situation was handled, we will not be returning. We would have gladly come back again and again, and we were even considering making a donation, but instead they chose to keep $40 for two unused tickets and lost our future business, as well as my recommendation to friends. Very disappointing experience.
