It's alright I guess as a student, but it's crumbly and some teachers I don't really recommend, but it's alright I guess.

Their motto every morning but be, "The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing." and it has been for years. The front desk/advising is completely unaware of the program directors/staff is doing. Poor comunication, website, and organization overall across the school and its programs. If getting started on a path wasn't hard enough, don't count on getting into the nursing program here either, even if you're already a student. The nursing program is understaffed, and the entry-rate is pitiful for how much funding went into this school and the tuition students pay. But, yay! There's a new advising building that isn't even labeled! It is a horrible shame what this school does to people. PLEASE don't waste your money here. Maybe you'll get lucky and get accepted into one of their programs, but definitely apply to multiple schools if you can, because they are in a prime location, with little to offer as far as a accessible successful career-building tools. If you are a good student or professor/teacher, please just come to Galveston College. They are so much more organized, and they actually care about their students.

College of the Mainland - Love to come here and work out. Lots of space and when it's busy you still have your space. This is the free weights room.

The structure/curriculum here is great and I know many things we learn from repetition right the more we do it the more it becomes familiar but when you think of something like math or reading well sure we do it often but it changes so the key is to learn the base and move up/advance as well as have other methods or learning and retaining the knowledge and I believe this is what is going on here and I think you should give them a try rates are reasonable and they have summer programs and add on for additional time if you or the Certified teacher agrees that your child may benefit from it and they are also offering afterschool which helps students with their school assigned work as well as work on their math and reading Best Brains enrichment. My son told his grandmother their summer plans would need to change this year and she would need to visit him because he has to get his brain together this summer in his new enrichment program *LOL*

Now that I am no longer an employee I feel as though I can leave my records of experiences with an open mind. A little about myself and my past experiences - I've worked with children for 14 years, and due to my husbands military career I've had experiences in multiple states with all age groups and in all positions. I came to visit Texas 3 years ago in preparation for our upcoming move from Virginia. I was prepared to deliver my resume all over League City to find my perfect fit. My search didn't last long. I walked into CLA and was immediately impressed, the building is beautiful and oozed cleanliness, the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and suddenly all my nerves disappeared. I filled out my application and interviewed with Assistant Director, D'Anne. The conversation flowed and she seemed to approve and I was able to meet with Director, Vanessa. She walked me through the school and was honest with me about where she felt their weaknesses were and what her expectations would be of me. The upfront honesty and willingness to look into herself and her school with such unbiased eyes was a welcome feeling. My mind was made up - CLA was to be my home away from home upon arriving to Texas. The curriculum is outstanding - different from anything I had seen before. The kids travel to a variety of enrichment classrooms throughout the day; in each room is a planned and prepped activity for the kiddos, so they are engaged and active throughout the day - even our preteens were happy to be there, and if you have one you know how mind blowing that is. They truly are like family within that building. It was unlike any experience I've ever had. My training was lengthy and thorough. The training management made sure I was well aware of not just CLA policies but all Texas State Minimums - and coming from another state I was so happy to have had that thorough of a training period. The overall feel of the building is a happy one. When you walk through the halls and peer into classrooms you see smiling kiddos, teachers on the floor or at the tables working with their students - learning is evident with just a quick stroll down the halls. Personally, I have grown in so many ways thanks to my time there. Vanessa is not just interested in seeing her school grow, but her team as well. She pushed me in ways I've never been pushed before and working with her has given me more motivation and determination then I've ever had before. Due to her motivational talks and high expectations I'm happy to say that this school has changed immensely since I started 3 years ago. If you don't believe me I encourage you to check it out for yourself - it really is amazing. I'm thrilled to have been a part of such an amazing place with such wonderful people but I can't wait to see what the future holds for these people. As for the recent negative reviews that have surfaced...all I ask is that you take the time to really think these claims through and before passing judgement visit the campus and ask yourself - would anyone really want a child to fall ill here or lose their life here? As a child care provider, and a decent human being I know it's the last thing that I ever want to happen. Should I ever return to Texas there is no doubt Vanessa will be getting a call from me. I hope this insider review will help you out.
