X-ray in March at southside Entrada Contenta the technican was surly. I needed to sit in a chair to take off my boot cast and asked if she could slide it over a few feet so I could get down to sit. She wouldn't. Stood there and said "can't you hop on one leg over to the chair?" I am 76 and non-weight bearing. She would not move that chair for me to sit, argued with me. I had to get down off the table, back onto my knee scooter, back it up and turn around to position the chair so I could get to it and take off the boot. She only had to slide it two feet over for me and just. would. not. do. it. Second Xray in April was lost. My doctor never got the images or the report and could not locate it in the system. It's still not there seven days later. No one answers the phone. Both the main and the satellite site use (505) 983-9350 but it does not connect to anything. Tried for two days and on hold for 20 min. each time then disconnected. Never got anyone at the main location or at the satellite site. With the phone system completely down, images not being read or reported -- it seems this location is in the process of shutting down? I know staffing has been a critical issue for Santa Fe Imaging, perhaps the southside site won't continue to operate. Never did get any any one to answer, had no other line to call, and doctor never got any xray report from them. Doors are still open but there apparently is no staff to read and report images. Or the system has been down for seven days and isn't functioning. You will need to get your doctor to specify Xray Associates for any images needed. read more

I went in at my scheduled time, waited an hour. When I was finally seen, the machine did not have the proper equipment for imaging my injured knee. The tech decided to try a workaround that caused a lot of pain in my knee. He told me it would just be 15 minutes. The noise cancelling headphones didn't work, I was in the machine for 45 minutes of pain. He then came in and told me the images were not working. He said he needed to adjust the contraption and said he needed 6 minutes. I refused and left. It was a horrible experience. read more

I am usually singing the praises of this organization, and I still do. The quality of care is outstanding, the equipment is great, not long waiting time when I arrive. However, this is the 2nd day I have been on hold for 20 minutes trying to schedule a non-mammogram appointment. The other day I hung up after 20 minutes, but I do need to schedule this today, so have them on speaker while doing other things. This is unacceptable, needless to say. I feel bad for the schedulers who must be inundated and overworked, but please hire more people! read more

Santa Fe Imaging contacted me to cancel my appointment due to equipment failure before I drove across town. My new appointment -- 10 weeks later. I asked who else offered this procedure. I was reluctantly told X-Ray Assoc. of NM. My orthopedist redirected my referral & I schedule my procedure (an x-ray guided injection) just 8 days later--a vast improvement over two and a half months. I had a great experience with them and plan to never go to Santa Fe Imaging again. Santa Fe Imaging never contacted me to apologize nor try to come up with extended hours to accommodate all the patients that had procedures cancelled. X-Ray Associates apparently got a lot of new patients (refugees) from Santa Fe Imaging. I suspect they just lost a good chunk of their existing patient base due to poor treatment and now bad word of mouth After I cancelled my September appointment once I'd completed my procedure, I got an email expressing disappointment I had cancelled & inviting me to reschedule--no questions as to why I cancelled. I found this low level of patient care close to patient abandonment. Now, I will never suggest to anyone that they get x-ray services from Santa Fe Imaging. Getting previous hip and knee x-rays with them was OK (the office staff was pleasant and friendly). My orthopedist had me retake x-rays despite the Santa Fe Imaging images being just five days old. He said they lacked the angles he had requested and needed for my care. So, my insurance got to pay twice and I got to pay two deductibles! Ugh. So, I can't in good conscience suggest anyone schedule procedures with Santa Fe Imaging at Christus for fear they could have the same experience if their equipment fails again. read more

I had an MRI at the Southside location. First of all there was absolutely no information provided regarding prep for the MRI given before the appointment. The young tech who brought me in walked in front of me and without looking at me mumbled "any metal?" That was about all the info I received. I had done enough research on my own to know I could have absolutely no metal and also no makeup, deodorant & certain clothing, etc. He set me up for the MRI and stuck some earphones on my head. He didn't say anything about music until I asked if there was music and he said yes you can choose any kind you want. So I gave him my request and then he proceeded to start. The MRI began with its high volume and there was no music coming through the earphones to help soften the high pitched noise. One minute before the end of the procedure, music came on. I told him there had been no music and he said the guy must have forgotten to turn up the volume. I suggested it might be helpful if he explained a little bit about the procedure beforehand, as I'd never had an MRI before. Perhaps SF Imaging could train techs to at least pretend that they care about the patients they are assisting. He seemed indifferent and going through the motions with minimal interaction and no interest in assisting the person he was dealing with. read more

I have had scans at this facility for probably 20 years, including annual mammograms. Appointments used to be kept on time and techs used to be very friendly and competent, but the facility has really gone downhill in the past few years. In the past month, I have been there for a bone density scan and mammogram. I always arrive at the appointed time - 20 minutes before my appointment. For the bone density scan, I waited 30 minutes to be seen, all the while hearing a woman, who turned out to be my tech, talking to another employee around the corner from the waiting room. Why she had 20 minutes or more to chat while I was waiting seemed curious. The waiting room had very few other patients, all of whom came and went while I waited. Maybe the machine was not available, was the excuse I made for them - but for 30 minutes? Today I went for my annumal mammo. Showed up on time, waited 20 minutes past my appointment and asked at the front desk what the hold up was. I was the only patient in the Desert Rose center and no employees in sight. I was told that it would be a few minutes. I'd already been waiting 35 minutes, I noted. "She's getting the room ready." Shouldn't the room have been ready for my 8:00 AM appointment, I asked? When the tech, Denise, finally called me 20 minutes after my appointment time, I calmly asked her what the problem was this Saturday morning. She ignored my question, so I asked again, "Why, with no other patients in the office, was I being seen 20 minutes late for the first appointment of the day?" Was she late to work? Denise refused to answer my question or offer an apology, saying only, "In a perfect world, everything would be on time. But it's not a perfect world." I asked once more why she was late, and she became angry, saying that she "wasn't going to do this" and accused me of being angry or hostile or something. I had been extremely careful to speak in a measured voice and not be aggressive with my questions - medical personnel don't need that from patients. But patients' time should be be respected, which was not the case this time at SF Imaging nor at my last visit. Her final comment, before stomping off to another room and closing the door in my face, was to tell me to go to the desk to make a new appoinment. I asked her name, which she refused to respond to at first. I asked again and got "Denise" before she closed the door. I went to the front desk and reported the incident, telling the young receptionists that I realized that they had no responsiblity for Denise's behaviour, and that I would be making a new mammo screening appointment, but certainly not at SF Imaging. I came home and called XRay Associates. In the two past years, I have had a two MRIs, an ultrsound, two CT scans, an X-ray, a bone density scan, and a mammogram at this facility. My husband also had an MRI there this year. It is apparent that they do not want or need our business. read more

This used to be a top business in New Mexico. The supposed technicians reading the mammographs were 2 young men who didn't appear to be qualified to do the work, were clueless about how to interact with an older woman, and behaved like excitable teenagers pulled off the street to work. Suddenly there was an uproar about what they perceived as a breast lump, and they said they have someone right there that can biopsy it. They didn't mention the qualifications, or lack thereof, of that person. They didn't ask if I had previously had this lump or a biopsy of it. I'm absolutely stunned at the lack of professionalism. My OB/GYN, a true professional and very qualified, who previously biopsied this lump, stated that it was clean and not an issue. He advised me to leave this alone, would have been aghast at how I was treated. Don't bother to go here. It appears that no one is competent, or intelligent, or in anyway trained at this place. read more

Mamograms - cold uncaring attitude. Left to wait long time. Results were questionable but dud not want to provide definite return time due to the doctor not stating specifics! My mamograms were unusual and questionable! Cancer is in my family - the attitude was, if your doctor was stupid enough to not properly request, too bad. This wasn't my first rodeo, definitely won't be last. Being the only facility in the state with a 3T MRI that accepts out of state orders, I had no choice but to give them a visit. It was either that or drive 7 hrs. to Phoenix to have it done with the Mayo Clinic. Luckily that's not the case. My first visit was a positive experience, but I've noticed the last couple were inconsistent. First off I understand they are a busy facility and things happen. Over the last few visits they didn't schedule me for the full work order like I requested. The first time this happened I ended up having to make two trips up to Santa Fe coming from Albuquerque just to get that completed. Then the second time and again with my recent exam they called literally the day of just hrs. before to reschedule. To top it off for the same imaging as last year that had 2 orders they pulled the same thing not scheduling it correctly and calling me the day of to inform me. So I ended up having to reschedule and putting my foot down to let them know I wasn't about to drive to Santa Fe just to make another trip 2 weeks later. With these gas prices, I definitely would like to avoid any unnecessary trips. The staff is very friendly and the last two techs I've had this year were excellent. They got the contrast in first try without fishing around on my arm. Let me tell you, that goes a long way for me. If it wasn't for the scheduling issues and the last minute calls to reschedule I would've kept it at 5 stars but sadly because of that experience I cannot confidently keep it there. read more

This was my first time getting mammogram and I was nervous. The technician, Ishi, didn't introduce herself, ran ahead of me, barely looked at me, was gruff, and uncaring. I told her it was my first time and I was nervous and she said exactly nothing to me in response. just went ahead mechanically placing me as if I wasn't a person. The machinery seemed good and up to date, but I was put off by the rude and rough manner with which I was treated. D+ read more

Today went in for a MRI, and we were 6 minutes late. We traveled from Rio Rancho. We waited 30 minutes and a rude lady came out to say we came in too late and they couldn't do it. This is unacceptable behavior since it was not our fault she was notified 30 minutes AFTER we showed. I think if she told us in a better tone, we could have been more understanding. It would have been nice to be told this before driving over there, filling out paperwork, changing into a paper gown and waiting for 25 minutes. Everything went fine with my procedure. Once I got home I had a question. When I called I was put on an interminable hold, listening to elevator music and then was hung up on and had to start over. Now I have 2 questions: Why am I completely unable to reach a human? How do I pay for a mammogram for someone who has no insurance? As for your note at the bottom this, "You're rolling now-got any more to add?" That is a VERY bad question to ask me right now because I'm looking for someone to strangle. read more

Came in for a routine mammogram, I am 70 years old have been coming here for for years and have never had such rough treatment. The technician Ishi? Yuxi? never introduced herself, barely communicated, shoved my breast in so hard I inadvertently yelped and this annoyed her. I told her I had never had pain before, the corner of the machine was hitting my shoulder, and her response was "I've been doing this for 18 years. I'll call another tech." I asked if I was allowed to tell her when it hurt. No answer. She never told me what she was doing, just shoved my breast and rotated the machine without warning and then left. Ugh. What an unpleasant woman. She's the last person who should be dealing with people who are nervous and vulnerable. Office staff is always courteous, run on time and no issues with them. read more

I am giving four stars because people at this clinic are helpful, courteous and professional, and that should be acknowledged. However, there is absolutely no excuse for the horrible experience of trying to reach someone by phone or online. When I call, I wait on hold and hear a recorded message three to four times a minute, for the entire time (upwards of 10 minutes) that I am on hold. Spare the platitudes about how important my call is to you and how highly you pride yourselves on providing the best service to each caller. Show us respect. And for the love of God, remove the pop-up scheduling form on your website that takes up the entire screen when I go to your home page. I filled it out two weeks ago, with no reply, only to hear from a phone employee that that service has been disabled. But it's still there! Causing who knows how many other people frustration and insult. If you pride yourselves on providing excellent service, earn your pride! read more

People are at the location are helpful and nice, and you get seen quickly. The billing side is a nightmare, i've spent many hours on the phone trying to get details of additional charges, been told that they'd sort it out, only to get billed incorrectly again, a real mess and headache. read more

Twice I was scheduled for an MRI for my shoulder. Twice I drove to Santa Fe from Rio Rancho for my appointment to find 1 no one there to do my MRI, 2 no one there because they are not open on Sundays. When I made the second appointment, I asked 3 times about it being on a Sunday. I wouldn't use this imaging company if you put a gun to my head. read more

I really appreciate the professionalism and conscientious care of Santa Fe Imaging. I've been in a couple of times to check on the progress of a foot fracture. Even though I go in as an unscheduled 'walk-in,' I'm usually seen within five minutes. The medical review of the xrays is accomplished quickly and I'm able to pickup a CD with the images to view on my own. Really kind technicians. Their patient portal is helpful, too. read more

Avoid the imaging clinic location on Hospital Drive. I might try the southside location next time. Maybe it will be better and i'll update my review. Went in for a mammogram recently. Front desk and everything seemed nice. What struck me as odd was when I walked into the mammogram room, I could clearly see another patient's record. I averted my eyes but was still aghast at the practices of the facility to protect patient information. The technician was okay but .. the person reeked of heavy cigarette smoke which to me is a no-no in a medical environment. Unfortunately, I know I'll go back in a year and just grin and bear it, but I may look into going to the other radiology clinic for future visits. read more

The few times I've had imaging services at Santa Fe Imaging, the professionals have been excellent. HOWEVER, the billing department is abysmal. I got X-rays in March and was billed in April. I paid immediately on 25 April. Months later, in August, I got a letter from a collection agency. Santa Fe Imaging lost my check and then turned this bill I already paid over to a collection agency. I've sent them proof from my bank demonstrating I paid them and they still want more proof. It's outrageous this is a matter of THEIR incompetence and yet I'm the one mired in red tape trying to prove what I've already proven. It's also occurred to me that what this is really all about is they'd like to to pay the bill twice which isn't going to happen. In the future, I'll go to Xray Associates rather than these incompetent boobs. read more

I have had several procedures here and never, a good experience. My most recent will be the last. I called to make an appointment for a pain relief, radiology guided, injection and the earliest availability was three weeks out. While disappointed, I booked it and the day before they called to reschedule it for another two weeks out and two hours later (seriously) sent a message rescheduling that appointment adding still another week. I called another provider and booked the same procedure within a week. read more

DESERT ROSE REVIEW OF MAMMOGRAM - APRIL 19, 2023 At the end of March, I had a mammogram. I previously had one a few years ago at SFI with no issues. This time was a completely different experience. The woman who administered the procedure never introduced herself. She roughly put my breast on the shelf of the machine and clamped down hard. It was so painful that I called out for her to stop. She said nothing, such as "I'm sorry, it'll only take a minute, you're doing great, hang in there." Nothing. I was a bit in shock and before I knew it, she had switched to the other breast and did the same thing. When she released this breast, she told me to put my sweater back on and promptly left the room. Initially, I did not call to complain, but about a week later I started experiencing a constant throbbing in one of my breasts, which has never occurred with any previous mammograms. I am in my seventies and have had several mammograms through the years and have never experienced this kind of pain or treatment by a technician. In reading through previous reviews there is a similar report from a few years ago. I have since learned that this technician's name is Yuxi. I would strongly suggest that if you make an appointment for a mammogram that you ask for another technician. Her treatment was cruel and completely unacceptable. I left two messages for Jeff, the office manager, to call me back so that I could discuss this privately with him, but I never received a call back. Mammograms are an important tool for detecting disease and I am glad that we have this technology, but obviously in the wrong hands it can be an instrument of torture. I'm not trying to make light of this and sincerely hope that this will serve as an opportunity for a candid conversation with Yuxi, regarding her treatment of patients and hopefully it will lead to a change in behavior. This procedure is uncomfortable yes, but excruciatingly painful it should not be. read more

Falsely claimed my insurance covered the procedure I came in for - approving my insurance, but then later claimed it was not and sent me the bill for the x-rays. They have never resolved it - have sent me to collections. Basically committed fraud is what I'd say. read more

I was left sitting in the waiting area when a technician went to lunch and didn't return. They tried to suggest it was my fault for being late.I got bounced around to three people before anyone apologized. They then gave me a $25 gift card for gas and the inconvenience. Guess they'd had unhappy customers before? Last week I had two scans done on Monday morning. Tech told me my doctor would get one the same day and the other two or three days later. As of the following Monday the doctor had still not received them. When I called the Imaging center to inquire about the tests they tried to blame the problem on the doctor's office. I had a quick, easy shoulder X-ray at my last visit (March 2020). I have also had a bone density scan and mammogram at SF Imaging in the past year. The staff is as professional as they are conscientious and caring. The prices are fair and results are produced promptly. I used to go to the other X-ray provider in Santa Fe and felt like I was in an impersonal big-city operation. There was a long wait, I felt like I was on a conveyor belt, and it was far more expensive. read more

I think that Santa Fe Imaging is great! It is not something I would think that I would say about a place that gives Mammograms, etc. They discovered a lump and I had now, three ultrasounds and mammograms and two chips - one for surgery (with another wonderful Doctor, Dr. Voltura), I am as happy as one can be under the circumstances. Santa Fe Imaging has a wonderful staff and my all-time favorite doctor, Dr. Koolpe (so natural and professional). I told them they had to wait till I got my artificial leg and their reply was to send it to collections. Now I can't even borrow the $3000 I need to finish up the artificial legs so I can walk and maybe earn some money. Very poor management. They don't have enough techs and do not have a backup plan, and cancel MRIs at the last minute because somebody doesn't show up for work. Then they postpone your needed MRI for 3 or more additional days Usually it takes 3 or more days to get an MRI. Much better to go to Albuquerque where multiple other imaging companies can get you in sooner And they don't cancel at the last minute. The technical personnel at SFI are very good and knowledgeable but the place is managed poorly. Go somewhere else where they care about the needs of patients, not just their own operations. read more
