Our first time trying artisanal ice creamery Santa Clara which has several shops in CDMX where we'd just come from. Our server at an Italian restaurant tonight recommended it when I asked for ice cream recommendations, so thank you, Ulises!
The young male worker at Helados Santa Clara was so helpful in explaining the types of ice cream they have and offering samples. We ended up with a nut-laden pistachio for my son and mango with Chamoy for me. Chamoy is a sweet/sour/salty/slightly spicy fruit sauce made in Mexico and added to fresh fruit like mango. Well-the mango Chamoy flavor was so fruity and refreshing that I can't wait for the next time I go back.
