I arranged transportation with "Private Car Transportation," which represented that vehicles were…read moreavailable and quoted me $325 plus 20% gratuity, totaling $390. Payment was requested via a link and was made in full prior to pickup. When the vehicle arrived, the ride was clearly conducted as an Uber platform trip with an Uber driver. There was no prior disclosure that the transportation would be fulfilled via a rideshare service rather than a private car operating under TCP authority. The Uber fare for the same route appears to be significantly less than the amount charged. Following the trip, I searched the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) public passenger carrier database and was unable to locate current active operating records associated with the TCP/PSG numbers referenced. I have requested documentation and clarification from the company regarding how the trip was conducted and under what authority. I am sharing this experience so other consumers can verify in advance: * Whether the service is truly private charter transportation * Whether it will be subcontracted or fulfilled via rideshare * What regulatory authority applies Transparency matters when consumers are paying for what is represented as licensed private transportation.
