Very interesting. I wish I had gotten our server's name, but she was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind and understanding, and communicative when our food wasn't coming out as quickly as it probably should have. Our waitress felt like a Southern grandma who cared about us. She really made the whole evening worthwhile. As a vegan, I had wished they offered more options, but I settled on ordering a pizza with veggies and no cheese. I liked the crust which was thin and crispy. There were a good amount of vegetables too. I ended up adding a little salt and red pepper flakes to make it more flavorful. Oh, and I ordered a soda which came in a very large cup! No need for a refill.

Pizza after the beach? Yes please! Captiva Island Pizza is a great option for a meal while on the…read moreisland if you're okay with a bit of a wait. It's definitely a hard-working small business, so they're very traditional in how they work. You can walk in and order at their window, or call in an order. They don't deliver so you have to come pick up- they're on the main road in Captiva where most of the shops are, but up on the second floor. There's no true seating inside, it's truly just to walk in, order, and then wait elsewhere. We found the literal one table outside downstairs to eat at, but other than that you figure out in your own what to do once you have the food. But let me say, I really enjoyed the pizza! The wait was worth it. It had plenty of the toppings we asked for, and the crust was the perfect thickness. We also got cheesy bread which was lovely on thick Texas toast, and dipped in marinara it was chefs kiss. Though they're small, they're a great business and it's always better to support local! Plus, great pizza!

If you're looking for a dine in full service restaurant, keep looking. Each time I've been there…read morehas been for carry out, and while waiting for my order I'd guess 10 or more other customers came and went with their carry out orders. While I was giving the owner's daughter my order, we were interrupted 2x by customers calling in their orders - a busy place! The place itself has some basic tables and chairs, maybe seating for 15 or so, but you order at the counter and no matter eat in or dine out, everything is packaged as carry out. As to the food - wonderful! I made the mistake of ordering a large egg drop soup and was given what I think is a quart size container, lol. The meals fill up the plastic to-go containers, and everything is made to order. General Tso's with fried rice was delicious, egg rolls, all the usual suspects are all great - fresh veggies, made to order, plastic forks and spoons in the sack. The only thing I forgot was to put several of the packets of soy and mustard sauce and hot sauces in my sack. I would also add though for instance, General Tso's has a hot pepper icon next to its description, one man's hot is another man's mild - so for many this will be very mild. If you find most restaurant's definition of hot for you is actually mild, tell them to make it hotter. If you think for instance, Taco Bell hot sauce is really hot, then it will be perfect for you as prepared. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that it isn't a full service restaurant. But for carry out to take back to the hotel or condo, this is great food.

Chicken Special and Sandwich Review Just a quick review on…read moresome new things we've tried at Busters. The Thursday Night Special is all you can eat fried chicken. The chicken comes with mashed potatoes and gravy, and coleslaw, for $14.00. This chicken is tremendous. A very light seasoned batter that is crispy, but not heavy. They fry it right. Fried to order, not sitting under heat lamps. Not greasy or oily at all and so moist. The mashed potatoes are good and the gravy tastes a little like Thanksgiving gravy. The coleslaw is just OK to us. And it is all you can eat and you can ask for wings, thighs, whatever. It is a short wait as they fry to order, but worth it. Highly recommend this dinner special. My wife just tried the Fat Piggy Press sandwich ($17.99) the other day. Oh is this good! They start with a hoagie type roll, 10-12 inches long, add pulled pork butt, top that with a delicious sauteed spinach with garlic, top that with provolone cheese, then press it, panini style. My wife ate 1/2 and brought the rest home for lunch. This is one great sandwich.
