During my time at this school, I experienced severe and ongoing physical and verbal bullying. When…read moreit was reported, the response from staff was minimal and did not lead to meaningful change. The school was publicly recognized as a "bully-free school," but my lived experience did not reflect that label. My parents were at the school at least once a week attempting to address and resolve these issues, but despite repeated reports, the bullying never meaningfully improved. I often felt that maintaining the school's reputation mattered more than addressing what was happening to me as a student. This experience had a lasting impact on my mental health and ultimately led to my removal from the school on the advice of medical professionals. I'm sharing this so parents and students understand that official labels don't always reflect individual experiences, and I do not want anyone to go through the same experience I did.

However, this school is one of the best things to happen to our children in a long time (aside from having awesome parents). The teacher to student ratio is very low, so you know that your child is getting the attention that they need. This school is K-8, and tends to attract and serve those families who have children with special needs. Scholarship programs are available as well for families who qualify. Parent involvement is high and activities are provided after school and on weekends, both for students and parents. Many children use this as a stepping stone to work their way in to local public schools, but several stay all the way through graduation to high school, and alumni often come back to help out in various ways.

The neglect and abuse was appalling and the relatively high rating this establishment has achieved is insane- I just hope such awful supervision and care isn't going unnoticed by other parents. Not to mention they continued to deduct money from my account after our daughter was taken out, and it was double the normal amount. Absolutely criminal!
