A great place to learn how to drive. We bought the 8 hour class and three lesson package. What I liked most was the amount of interaction with me, the parent. I was asked a bunch of questions before the first practical class and then given feedback on what needed to be worked on. The instructor was very courteous and polite. The front desk lady was lovely and made us feel welcome. This place is operated by previous police officers so I know my daughter is being taught well. I know the instruction is a little bit expensive when compared to other schools, but there is no cost on being taught properly. It's about your child being safe. read more

My third driver is now getting ready to complete her classes at 911 driving school. The teachers there are all active or retired police officers!! I'm proud to say that both of my boys are excellent drivers and my daughter, who is the one getting ready to take her drivers test, is doing a wonderful job as well!! The instructors are great, but read the fine print / your driver's drives are subject to their instructors' availability. They are so over-booked it can take WEEKS to get your kid a single drive. Your driver could be delayed from getting his/her license by months because they simply don't have enough instructors. They are also the most expensive option in town and charge extra to take the exam with them (which btw you still have to go to the DMV to get your actual license so it doesn't save you any time, just costs you money). My other kid went to Mike's driving school - it's a good option if your driver doesn't need extra help and it's significantly less expensive and he always has availability (AND will pick up from your house)! read more

Had a good experience for my daughter. She just obtained her license. I purchased the five lessons with the one day class. I also had her do the test at the school which cost a fee as well. She had two different instructors which worked fine. They were both great. They were tough but that is necessary. This is a life or death situation if it doesn't work out. She drove for me every where we went. You can't expect a few driving lessons to be all a new driver needs. It is about experience. I would definitely recommend them. This is our second experience with 911 in Mount Pleasant. Our oldest son had an excellent experience ... a 2 hour private and passed the driving test with 911 ... using their smaller cars and knowing the instructor put him at ease. That experience was great. Our daughter had a different but equally successful experience. She was unable to take her driving class with 911 since covid19 halted everything and then backed it all up. She ended up taking privates through an independent party. Kathy at the front desk was amazing ... so sweet and understanding of the stress these kids put on themselves. Kathy worked her scheduling magic skills and got our daughter on the drivers test calendar. Our daughter was blessed to get Matt as her instructor! He was professional, informative and easy to talk to and had a great sense of humor ... he immediately put my daughter at ease! Her drivers test with Matt was thorough and she was extremely confident ... passing the test easily! Kathy was so helpful by already having scheduled an appt for us to go to the DMV a couple hours later to get that official SC drivers license! We couldn't have asked for a better experience ... Disappointed. My experience makes me feel like their greater concern is NOT the student, but their pockets. I live in North Charleston, so I was looking to enroll my daughter into the Goose Creek school. I called one Tuesday to get some information and was automatically transferred to the Mt P school because the GC school isn't open on Tuesdays. I spoke to a very nice lady who answered my questions and mentioned the next Goose Creek classroom day was August 8th. She also mentioned how she wasn't sure if that location would have any other classes scheduled after that one because typically things slow down. Once my daughter passed her knowledge test, I logged onto their website and signed her up for the Goose Creek August 8th class. On Monday August 3rd I received a voicemail from the Mt Pleasant school that the Goose Creek location would be unexpectedly closing down so I could either transfer my daughter to the Mt P school, or get a refund. If I transferred her, I would have to pay an additional $80 because the Mt Pleasant school charges more. I called back and explained how I live in N Charleston, so already to transfer would cost me more (gas money back & forth to Mt P), and wanted to know if they'd be willing to honor the Goose Creek price, especially considering the GC sign up was available just the week prior. The woman I spoke with said she'd see the owner later and would speak with him. She called me back Tuesday to let me know that no, he was not willing to honor that price. I opted for a refund and will enroll her in Lord Ashley (I received 3 personal recommendations for LA after this hiccup). I'm disappointed that 911 Driving School wasn't willing to work with me when I did everything right, paid in full and it would cost me more regardless to switch locations. Zero interest in working with customers clearly indicates to me the owner only cares about the bottom dollar. Darn shame. They earned 1 star because although the owner deserves zero stars in my book, the woman from the Mt Pleasant school was always super kind, and very helpful. She was wonderful and I hope they treat her well! read more

We loved this program for our 16 year old daughter. It was all about her safety and her confidence in the vehicle. We had 3 different instructors (all active/former police officers) and they were all amazing! We even took the driving test there. Would recommend 100%! Well worth the $! read more

Would not refund cost of unused and properly canceled drivers test. They are professional. The instructors can be friendly or at times somewhat standoff-ish. They are quite costly and have increased their pricing by nearly 30 % between about 18 months of my experience of two children in 2011 and 2013. read more

Tucked into the back of a strip mall in Park West (by an Irish Pub) It is well organized & lessons are on schedule. The teachers are all police officers. Some are nice, some dole out a bit of tough love. Either way, they are good instructors that my son listened to. They provide the cars. You can also have your child take the driving test with them instead of DMV - which I think isn't as stressful. I fully recommend 911. read more

My daughter just completed an eight hour class & three two hour driving sessions at this school located in Brickyard Plantation Strip Mall. I registered her on line & paid the fee. Expensive for sure but I feel like she acquired a great foundation & was able to practice the skills taught in the eight hour class. This school is run by police officers who were extremely professional courteous and interested in her achieving the utmost in training, safety and education while here. She feels like she really benefited from the class. It's busy for sure, but all of the sessions can be booked on line and then they email with cancellation vacancies for the two hour drives which works out very well. She has the option of taking her test with them ($60.00) or taking it at DMV. Her choice. Prior to and after each session, the parent/guardian must meet with the instructor to go over the plan & discuss issues/concerns with the instructor. Personally I feel like it was a very positive informative experience & would highly recommend for the young teen driver. You should check it out. read more

The driving class and instructors are wonderful, however the owner of 911 Driving School is more concerned about making money then students passing the driving test, especially because they charge $50 to take the driving test and if you fail you have to pay another $50! How many students fail the first time so this company can make another $50? read more

I paid for my son's class over the phone with my debit card and I was charged twice. Although very nice, the woman I spoke to could not help me and no one else called to fix the situation before going into a long weekend. I am extremely disappointed and will be pursuing this further as I have still not received a credit. I have 4 more children who will be driving soon as well as many many friends with children in the mount pleasant area. Will not recommend this school at all. read more
