Today I had an interview with Valley Staffing in Faribault Minnesota, I arrived 5 minutes early. It…read moreseemed to be a busy office with a reception desk, one office and a testing rooming. Space was cramped and dingy. I said I had an appointment the staffing specialist rushed me to another room through a locked door and down a hall to fill out an assessment test. Which I did. After completing they had me go to the testing room where there was only one computer to have me complete a typing and excel assessment. Both were old versions, and do not reflect the current levels available. During this testing I could overhear the staffing specialist talk on the receptionists' phone to her superior I believe, she was explaining a poor experience she had encountered with a what I could tell a client. She said he was an "asshole" and defend her position in the encounter. At this point, I became very uncomfortable and believed this was not a good company to be a part of. When I had completed my computer skills, the receptionist asked me to fill out the application. I did so and then went in to talk with the staffing specialist. The staffing specialist never introduced herself nor asked me who I was. I finally said "who am I speaking to?" she was annoyed by the question offered her name as Sarah, shook my hand, I introduced myself. When I tried to ask questions about the position I applied for she said she had to ask me a question first before she would talk about it. She asked her questions from her sheet. Not allowing me to give more than what she asked. She did not give any information on who they were as a company. After her questions were done she handed the application back to me saying you need to sign it and put at least the last four of your Social Security number on it. "After you return it I will contact your references and check your background and then in a week or so I will contact you with the information on the available position". Not allowing me to talk I nodded walked out said good day to the receptionist and left. I was just about to my car when Sarah yelled at me to give her back her paperwork (my application). I did so and left. I am aghast, appalled and astonished at how unprofessional, combative, controlling, and rude this staffing specialist was. The only credit I give them is the receptionist who was warm, and personable. However, she did not explain things to me either. I am very disappointed in this encounter and have and will recommend people stay away from this business.
