He won't tell you on the phone before you drive there that they no longer take credit or debit cards, so you can stop for $ prior to arrival (because they've been in business for 5 years so everyone should know this even if they've never been there!). OK, a few places in the U.S. don't take credit cards so I will use the ATM. Nope, no ATM. There's an ATM down the street. OK fine, I have a little cash on me, so lets figure out what I can get with my $30. Oh boy, don't dare ask him what qualifies for Junior and Senior rates! Asking pricing questions appear to be annoying to him as he will huff and puff prior to telling you (If it's that big of deal maybe just write it on the whiteboard under Junior and Senior rates???). He thinks you should just pay whatever and not figure out the best bang for you buck. There is ONE other person in there already playing so it's not like we are holding up any sort of "line" of people. Ok, so I have enough for 1.5 hours...can I pay for and use that now and see if we need more time to finish 18 holes? Maybe we will be able to get what we need in? NO! He would rather you pay for more than you need and not use it vs. trying to rush to finish. If you THINK you may need 2 hours to finish but aren't sure, by golly you will PAY for 2 hours. But he is such a nice business owner, he WILL let you use the putting green while someone goes to the ATM to get "just in case" money. Just don't dare make any smart comments to expose his genuinely rude attitude...He will then tell you" this is America and I don' have to take this s@#! from people and you should take our stuff and leave." He will also then waddle out from behind the counter and try to act tough and intimidating to "make sure you don't do anything stupid" as you are walking out in shock and awe My son sure was impressed by this guy. So in summary, if you want to be treated like crap, deal with a rude business owner that thinks he is the only simulator in the world, and virtually beg to spend your money there then this is the place for you.

The greens are green and kept pool table nice. The fairways are kept really nice. Every one of the course crew we see have been very friendly. I always have a good time here. The new ownership has this course on the right track, you can tell he cares and more importantly knows what he's doing. Is the course perfect? Absolutely not. The course itself is probably 3.5 stars but if you compare it to what it was before you could give 10 stars. What's good: -There's actual grass on all nine greens. They're very slow and the fringe isn't great yet but compared to the dirt I played on two years ago this is great. -There are tee boxes and multiple tees -A lot of new golf carts and repairs to the old golf carts -New targets on the range and new range balls What's not so good: -The grass everywhere besides the greens is still pretty overgrown. The tee boxes were like teeing off from the first cut -Greens still need some work but it seems like they're doing all the things needed to improve next year -No real practice area or putting green on the course or at the range. They had a small area roped off on the first tee -They need to create a cart path or clear the trees around 7/8/9, getting to 9 is still weird Overall I'm very impressed with the new owners' progress on turning the course around. It isn't quite ready to be "good" but I'm optimistic to play it again next season and see. *My photos reflect what I believed to be the best and worst greens on the course.*

Easy to see the whole parking lot so if you bring your boat you can watch it all night! ( but you shouldn't have to! The staff is super savvy and will help you take care of all security issues.) Plus will point out all the best places to visit while in town! Great breakfast buffet, courtesy of Brenda and Robin. Brenda has Cracker Barrel experience and is a stickler for quality. Robin is a hoot! She and i traded war stories. Laundry room on the 3rd floor. Snacks by the front desk. Pet friendly. Shares grounds with hotel next door so you can go there for a change of place! Nice grounds to walk and some good restaurants nearby. There is a large erase board in lobby with suggestions. Plus daily water temp and weather conditions. Some of the locals hang out there and will tell you if the fish are biting! If you want something fancy and a real good steak, Angelo's opens for dinner at 4. It's in the old Bob Evans building. The Kroger nearby has lots of reasonably priced provisions, plus they mark stuff down for manager specials early so you can get stuff for the boat and be on your way! The hotel staff can give directions. There is also a place close that will clean the fish before you leave Michigan and go back home. In deer-hunting season, they will help you get that buck ready for the freezer! The River Raisin Battlefield is nearby as is the Vietnam Memorial. Their are lots to do even if you don't fish! Check out the Phoenix Theatre for first run movies or the restaurants on Telegraph in Monroe. We have a real cool Spanish restaurant that does authentic tapas! And a St.Julian winery in nearby Dundee that has tastings on the patio! Fancy!!! A1 AUTO in town can help w/ car repairs( if needed) and Discount Tire can help you get new ones if it's your 4 wheeler that wants some lovin'! Cindy Gallup was the manager when I was there. The shower was large and clean and loaded with fresh towels and the bed had fresh, warm linens. The workout room had a full rack of dumbells and several treadmills, bikes and a bench. The pool was clean and bathwater warm. Breakfast was a humongous spread of everything you could think of. I had a cheese omelets, oatmeal and a waffle but they had cereal, bagels, scrambled eggs, pancakes, muffins, rolls, pastries, and juices and yogurt and really anything you could ever want! Really close to a shopping mall and pleanty of food options. I really enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be back!
