Ice cream sandwich. Flavor, peanut butter and chocolate.

I stopped in prior to a hike. It is the honor system so you need cash. I got the peanut butter cookie with chocolate ice cream sandwich. It was pretty good.

Had previously gone to the "shack" at the farm for ice cream. This time around, GPS brought us to a cute store since they closed the shack on the farm. It's still going by the honor system and they offer more payments options like Venmo. Although my fiancé absolutely loves this ice cream, it was just OK for me.

This place is a hidden gem... I almost didn't want to leave a review and let people know about. But, that wouldn't be nice to keep all the yumminess to myself! To get to their shop, you really feel like you're going the wrong way... you have to drive down quite a bit of a bumpy, private dirty road. Don't be deterred; you are going the right way; you will get there; you won't regret it. Once you do arrive, you see a small shed like building. You go in and it is nicely decorated with two coolers and pre-packed ice cream in three different sizes. It is cash only and all on the honor system. You write down in a book what you took and put your cash in a slot. There were a variety of flavors to choose from. My friends and I got moose tracks, coffee, MJB and chocorua [i may have spelled that wrong] orange. The MJB (mocha ice cream with chocolate covered espresso beans) was my favorite, but everything got rave reviews! If you don't plan on eating it there... or on your way back home (they have eco-friendly wooden spoons), make sure to bring yourself a cooler and ice. You'll likely want more than one flavor :)

We drove on to the outskirts of Sandwich to find the Sandwich Creamery. This is certainly one ice cream shop that is off the beaten path. We drove down a rutted road for quite some time until we found the creamery. However, it certainly was worth the drive. How neat that the creamery is operated on an honesty system. The prices are so reasonable, small $3.00, medium $4.00 and large $6.00. There is a slot where you place your money to pay. How refreshing to see that people can be trusted to do this in this day and age. Evidently, they had done a brisk business this beautiful fall day as they were out of so many flavors. My husband was thrilled with his peppermint ice cream and our friend savored her Mexican Jumping Bean ice cream. All of the ice cream looks the same - white -but when you dip into it you get the flavor. Oh, did I mention, they also sell cheese.

We have a summer home nearby and had always meant to come visit ... we finally got around to it this summer. The atmosphere, with animals, picnic area, and the scenic drive are nice. The ice cream, however, was very disappointing. There is NO WAY this is homemade. As another reviewer pointed out, the ingredients list would suggest factory made. It was no better than cheap store brand ice cream, in my opinion, but much more expensive. Very dishonest and deceptive. If you have small kids who might like the animals, then visit ... but if you want good ice cream, you're better off going to Skelley's in Moultonborough, who carry homemade ice cream from Richardson's Farm, or Ben & Jerry's in Meredith. Or, actually, ANYWHERE that sells ice cream... I honestly feel duped, falling for the suggestion of homemade ice cream when it was factory crap. Don't believe any of the reviews claiming it's "the best ice cream in the US" - these people are judging the quaint packaging and farmy atmosphere much more than taste! I'd give it one star, but the cheese was okay and the drive scenic.

Came here after hiking whiteface and passaconaway. So charming! It is a self serve place so has remained open! Sold on honor system (Don't be a shmuck. Pay them.). I had an ice cream sandwich and my dog had a vanilla ice cream. So good after the hike and they have a nice large outdoor yard set up to enjoy your ice cream!

Giving 5 stars for the experience. It is a small vintage cottage, that I found to be the opposite of "disappointing" and very cool and different! Also I thought it was fun to see the farm animals, not sure how you could expect more than that from a small ice cream place. Prices were cheap but be sure to bring change. Ice cream was good, not sure if it's homemade or not but still good. Long drive down but very scenic, we even saw a small black bear along the way! Quaint sitting area outside. If you're coming for aesthetic, make the trip. If you're coming for really good ice cream alone, maybe find a different place. Overall a very different and fun experience.

    At the creamery.

They take part in the yearly maple event in the early spring where maple is demonstrated how it is acquired and collected. The shop is small and in the back you can find the collection tubes and lines where maple is collected during season. They have parking and offer a portapotty outside by the parking lot. They sell touristic items and local items. They had maple in stock, I was able to get dark maple! My favorite for coffees and teas. For a treat, I ordered the Dessert for breakfast which is served at the 12pm. This shop also opens earlier to offer cafe items like pastries, sandwiches and coffees. My treat had toppings of honey crunch cereal, maple drizzle, maple ice cream and the cone was a waffle puff. It was pretty and SWEET! Very large and my partner and I shared it! He ordered a small maple cone, and it was also very tall and enough for the two of us! I do aim to try to attend the maple season collection tour in the early spring! Will stop by again for the cafe items next trip!

The ice cream shop is located outside and inside is a small gift shop with some offerings such as NH maple syrups, candies, and gifts. They also offer some drinks and sandwiches and pastries. I decided to get a small ice-cream with waffle cone and my partner got the breakfast for desert. I was surprised how big the small maple soft serve was. Maple soft serve was sweet and creamy with full of maple flavor. The breakfast for desert is a pufflecone (bubble waffle shaped into cone) with maple soft serve, cinnamon toast crunch and drizzle of maple syrup. Cinnamon toast crunch adds a crunchy texture on too of sweet and creamy soft serve. The pufflecone paired well with the soft serve. The deserts were delightful and we were stuffed and maybe slightly guilty for having so much desert. I probably have been ok with sharing one small maple soft serve with two people. Service was quick, good and staff were nice. Overall I enjoyed the visit and would return if I'm around the area. We were too stuffed to try their sandwich but I may try it next time I visit. There were some interesting maple themed sandwiches

The concept…read moresounded so unique, and a flight of ice cream is basically my dream way to eat ice cream--I always struggle to choose just one flavor. The shop makes tiny-batch ice cream from scratch up in the White Mountains, and it shows in the quality. I went for the egg-carton flight, which came with six flavors: Slopeside Mint Chip, Trillium Coffee, Single Origin Chocolate, Honeycomb, Mount Cabot Maple, and one more I can't quite remember. Each scoop had its own personality--bright mint, bold coffee, rich chocolate, and the maple and honeycomb were especially standout. The space itself is a fun little spot, perfect for a hot day. Portions aren't huge, which I actually liked because it felt more like a treat or snack rather than an overload. My only gripe is that the flavors aren't labeled on the carton, so it can be a bit of a guessing game figuring out what you're tasting. Overall though, between the creativity, the locally inspired flavors, and the chance to try a bunch at once, it's absolutely worth the stop if you're in the area.

It has won various awards, and after just one taste of their ice cream, you'll think to yourself: "Ah, okay - now it all makes sense." I'm finding it hard to accurately describe the flavor explosion when I took a bite of the strawberry shortcake ice cream. It was sweet and tangy, with a crumbly crunch in every bite from the graham cracker. It's as if the strawberry shortcake pops you got from the ice cream truck as a kid were somehow 10 times more delicious and folded into creamy, strawberry ice cream. The place itself is adorable, with plenty of options for outdoor seating both in the front and back. There's even a board where you can spell out words with magnetic letters and a giant checkers game. They've somehow nailed incredible ice cream with a super cool vibe. Service is always fast, friendly, and happy to help you find the right flavor by letting you sample different options. This place is a MUST visit in the Western White Mountains!

Have no idea how this place survives through the winter. Nothing about this establishment is homemade. At all. Look at the ingredients, they're really bad. Nothing natural about a shred of it. But I'm not too stuck up to try, so I gave it a go, anyway. And, it was disgusting. The second star I gave is for the ginger, that was about on par with another establishment I have tried. I try to give credit wherever it is due! Decent building, clean, surprising space from the outside you can't tell, cute touristy sales items; this is their best feature. For some reason the ice cream freezers in full view of the sun, their electric bill must be astronomical. I ordered a frappe. Yikes. Soda and milk were blended together, and I'm guessing ice cream was in there too, but you couldn't tell. I don't drink soda, and I LOVE ice cream. So when I tell you that I would rather have just drank the soda, that's a big deal. I took two sips and threw the rest away. Horrific. The flavour was extremely nasty, and I wasn't about to do that to my body, just because I'd paid for it. I'm so sad. We need more small businesses!! If they were at least honest about their marketing, that would be a huge step. And someone who knows something about ice cream and flavours really needs to help them curate their menu and how to actually make ice cream and ice cream products. That would be TRANSFORMATIVE!!
