I would like to let you know about the treatment I was subjected to at Enderby Gas, Sherman…read morelocation. If I could give them a negative rating, I definitely would.
As you can tell by my name, I am a woman. I am a 65-year-old, educated adult. I have been to this location twice. On my first visit, I took four or five 20# cylinders to have them filled. There's a big sign that says, "We will not load or unload," or something to that effect. So, I began unloading them. A man came out of the shed where the tanks are filled, looked at me, looked at the cylinders, shook his head, turned and walked away. I went in to pay and came back out. After I loaded them all into my vehicle, I asked him why he did that. He said, "Oh! Just because no one uses those anymore," which I know is bullshit. I told him it was extremely dismissive and condescending. And then it was-I didn't mean anything, I was talking about the cylinders, and a lame ass, insincere apology.
On my second trip, I took a 100# tank to be recertified and filled. The short man who sits in the back right corner barely looked up and said, "Help you?" I told him what I wanted, and he reiterated that they don't load or unload. I told him I was aware. Maybe he thought I couldn't read the large sign on the door of the shed. I don't know. I believed I could slide it out of the bed of the truck. But my husband had strapped it extremely tight, and the electronic tailgate wouldn't open. It was hot, I needed to get back to work, and I was extremely frustrated, which any idiot could see. He laughed at me.
I couldn't get the tailgate down, so I took a male co-worker with me to help with the tailgate the next day. I got the same, "Help you?" as if he'd never seen me before. Then asked, "Is it unloaded?" He said, "If we don't call you, you can pick it up tomorrow. And, of course, he never called. My husband called him. Because he is disabled, there was no way he was going to get it back into the truck. So, we asked a friend to go with him and hauled our utility trailer with a ramp, a dolly and straps to pick it up. After he paid, he went out to get it, and one of the men there said, "I can help you. No problem." WTF??? Are only their women customers treated so poorly?
You can be sure that neither one of us will be back there. I'll sooner drive the hour away to the next place that will recertify than go back. The propane cost twice as much there, as well. The treatment I received is indefensible. Their competitors know this, and tell their customers. That speaks volumes.
