I had made a 9 o'clock appointment with Trin at Modern Nails in Sandusky three weeks ago. I get there 10 min early and there someone at her station. When I question if I will be taken on time. She gets rude and says since I am in a hurry she refuses to honor my appointment. Mind you she doesn't say this directly to me. Her and her husband Lee are talking in Vietnamese right in front of me. Used to go here all the time but I now see that Modern Nail lacks ethics and integrity and apparently support terrorism and genocide. Asked for acrylic design over the phone and they were fine with this. When I came in they said they couldn't do a simple design of the Palestinian flag. This is the second time I've been to Modern Nail and I loved it again! The first time I got a pedicure with my friend when I was pregnant. The chairs were so relaxing and comfortable (especially for at the end of my pregnancy) and the staff is so friendly. Chloe did my nails this time and they turned out close to perfect! We also had a great, deep and personal conversation. She's wonderful. Request her!!! I LOVE this salon, but I do NOT recommend having Chloe do your nails. My fills normally last me 3-4 weeks, after having them done by her I had to have 1 nail re-done 3 times within 1 week!! I set an appt at 4 and did not get seated until 4:45. When I was telling my nail tech what i wanted he yes he could do that. I asked for a simple nude and black tips and my nails are so chunky and uneven. The polish is messy and not the same on any finger. he ended up charging me triple then what i was told i was going to. Completely Awesome! Very sanitary, multiple techs so no wait but they also do appointments. Very pleasant friendly conversation. Atmosphere feels like a spa. Only downfall is no bright colors to choose from & they ONLY do white stencils BUT they very talented with free hand. read more

This salon is very nice on the inside. Service was friendly, they open early at 9:30 am and I was able to walk right in. If I could give negative stars, I would. The first time at this place I got a pedicure and a dip gel manicure. It was okay. My next appointment was awful. The woman doing my nails had obviously never used dipping powder. It was so obviously bad, they told me to come back this week when I had time to have them redone. Lee is the rudest person I have ever talked to on the phone. I simply asked about making an appointment for removing polish and removing jewels on my hands and feet since that is what I was told to do by the nail stylist that did my nails the last time because the designs I want on my nails always take so long. Lee said I didn't need an appointment and as I proceeded to tell him what I was instructed to do then he started getting out of pocket and saying I was rude for not listening to him about not needing an appointment because he is the boss. WHAAAAATTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please keep in mind I have know idea who this man is because I have only been there twice and why would I know anything about him being the boss. They all do nails and none of them have a signs on them saying I am the boss! Then to top off him being rude He hung up on me! So I called back and asked why he hung up on me when I was trying to explain why I asked for an appointment. He said he doesn't have time to have a conversation with me and don't call back again because if I did it would be harassing him. Even though he was the one being rude by hanging up on his customer. That is definitely not the way a BOSS is supposed to behave. What in the world is happening!!! He couldn't have be any more rude to a customer. Especially since I wasn't yelling Or cursing just simply trying to have a conversation with this man. All I can say is "wow" he has taken customer service to a whole new level. It's a very busy place but once you get your nails done, you'll understand why! Friendly service, reasonably priced, appointments accepted (highly recommend), creativity of the nail artists so you can get a design with out the obvious spray paint, very personable, and the cleanliness and decor makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. I'm not going anywhere else anytime soon. I will let my nails fall off before I get a balance somewhere else. All of them are great, by my fav is Trina. read more
