The section for herb and vegetables is plentiful and includes some neat arrangements for those lacking a green thumb (or those looking for a unique and fun gift) such as the salad bowl (arugula, herbs, edible flowers, etc.). The coolest part is that there's also a ton of fun stuff inside! Bird feeders, hummingbird feeders, squirrel feeders (didn't know that was a thing by the way!), and a ton of seeds and feed. There's also a section filled with locally crafted soaps, plus stuff for children (or adults who also enjoy toys like finger puppets). It's kinda a real life enchanted forest. Well, close enough.

They also are one of Tally's best caterers. Tonight, I tried for the first time SE's Salmon Spread - and it was the best I've tasted ... anywhere, ever. My wife advised that it's not a regular offering; that's it's usually made when there's some leftover salmon from other preparations (in tonight's case, from yesterday's Grilled Salmon grab-and-go dinners). This is a grave error; it should be a regular fixture in their display cooler. This spread should be a destination for salmon, not a detour. I've always thought SE's amazing cookies were the star of their show. They must now take a supporting role to this amazing Salmon Spread.

An excellent way to wind down - plus I enjoyed the painting! The staff was super friendly and very patient in explaining the process to a newcomer. There are loads of pieces from which to choose. Once the choice is made, the customer can choose the colors for their piece, which is left at the facility for staff to put in the kiln. The piece is usually ready for pick up within a week/week and a half. I plan to visit again; next time, I'll have others tag along with me!

I'm a fan! I came to this market one Saturday afternoon because I was in need of some local honey…read morefor my allergies. As we know, local honey is much better and more beneficial than store bought honey. The Frenchtown Farmer's Market is rather small. I would actually say it is smaller than the one out by Thomasville. However, the fresh produce and other goods are great....great quality and great price that is. I saw foods such as watermelons, sweet potato, tomatoes, okra, onions, and beans. There was also some great local honey from Walter, the bee keeper. He had some freshly cut sourdough bread for us to try the honey before purchasing. He had honey both with and without the honeycomb and they were $10 each. He also had some candles that were made out of bee pollen and said those, too were good for allergy sufferers. There was a stand where a lady was selling boiled peanuts; both spicy and non spicy. I saw some t-shirts for sale as well as some artwork. What I appreciated most was that there were people from different ethnic backgrounds and different ages. Everyone was so nice....it's not all the time you walk down the street and are greeted by everyone. There was even a young women set up street side who offered us some free water and free slices of watermelons. Many of the neighbors were sitting on their porches people watching and striking conversations with passersby. Although this is not a place where I could "stock up" on all the produce I desire, it is a great place to stop in to purchase a few items. I love that this market is still around and that some of the culture and history of Frenchtown is being preserved.

Al of this week I have been in work interviews with candidates that have gone over the lunch hour…read more However, my employer hired Social Catering and Events to provide a catered, hot lunch each day and I have been quite impressed. While I am sure that they build the meal to the budget and event type, each day has brought a delicious hot entree (for example, today was a fantastic vegetarian spinach and cheese pasta roll), a salad (the watermelon and arugula salad was pretty darn tasty), sometimes a side (if you have the cornbread, you MUST use the flavored butter spread), and always a great dessert (homemade chocolate chip cookies with crumbled bacon....need I say more?). Angela (on of the partners) and her team have been really attentive, including remembering the drink selections of those of us on the interview committee and bringing them out to us when we arrive. And they have been respectful of the meeting environment, including quickly and unobtrusively clearing things away while we meet with the candidates (or, today, silently serving individual warm bread puddings right after lunch was cleared). And the set-up of the serving platters and drinks is top notch. One of the things that they specialize in, and like to do, is catered parties in peoples homes. Their team arrived right on time and they were courteous and helpful from start-to-finish. The (incredibly delicious) food was prepared and arranged beautifully right on time, and they were flexible to bring everything out as we needed it. They helped me move tables, offered suggestions for presentation, and offered to wrap up and set aside dessert for the bride and groom to enjoy later. Throughout the evening, they were on-point in service and attitude. They played a huge role in ensuring the reception was a success. I would work with them again in a heartbeat.
