I did not personally hire Marty, he was hired to photograph the dancers at the studio my daughter…read morewas enrolled in. At the time I was supposed to receive the photographs hers were nowhere to be found, ok, maybe it was an oversight. I contacted him and he took a while to get back to me, again, fair enough. When he did get back to me I was met with a very defensive attitude, no reassurance whatsoever. Again, I wanted my photos so I helped as much as I could, gave him a lot of information but I had to chase him for a response. His response left a lot to be desired, he was super rude, and I of course expressed how disappointed I was and started to give the same energy. I asked if he had a studio where he could photograph my daughter since the photos were paid for but ultimately settled for a group photo. He repeated over and over again how he did not receive the order form and how my daughter didn't turn it in, she's FOUR and he knows she had to be around that age. I turned it in to whoever the woman was receiving them. It is NOT my fault that Marty misplaced my order form and did not photograph my daughter when that same woman told him I wanted her photographed. If he did not have time to photograph her, was out of memory, or whatever the case was, he could have told me. It's not about the money, it's the principal. I will NEVER hire Marty myself, I do not like his attitude, service, or even his work, I only bought it to have the memory of my daughter's dance season. If I could give zero stars I would.

My (now)husband and I are not used to having our pictures taken and I was actually dreading having to do it at all. However, thanks to Mariann we had the most wonderful and fun time together! She had lots of pictures ideas ready for us and would help us pose for each one and also allowed us to give input if we wanted to change or add something else. We got our engagement pictures back within 2 weeks which I thought was amazing and our photos were absolutely perfect! I thought we would maybe get one good shot (due to my pickiness about myself not due to Mariann) but I printed well over 20 shots!! When it came time for my wedding I knew I had nothing to worry about. Mariann took the time to make a timeline for the day and was prompt and wonderful throughout the entire day. Don't let the ONE bad review let you think otherwise, Sincerely Me Photography is a fantastic business with an amazing owner. She is kind, funny, and truly wants you to have a good experience while she is shooting with you. I recommend her to everyone I know!

We had only disappointment and frustration with Mariann. We received her services as a gift and…read morescheduled our appointment. She first said she would scout out locations but then said she wouldn't be able to after all. My wife asked what the important criteria for a site were and then did research to figure out some good options. She sent Mariann a list of several options, with the details and pros/cons of each. Still, no site was selected. Mariann -- whom we still hadn't met -- then started sending us messages containing her private medical information, e.g., what her medical conditions were and what medications she could/couldn't take. A few days in advance, we asked if she needed to cancel the shoot due to her physical problems, and she said no. Then she did cancel at the last minute (the night before), including yet more private medical details. It made us feel uncomfortable to hear private medical drama from someone we didn't know, someone we were trying to have a professional relationship with. With two little kids and two adults to wrangle, the last minute cancelation was pretty inconvenient, but we tried to be understanding and scheduled a new date. Then, a couple weeks later, when it was time to actually have the shoot, she suggested we meet at a random nearby intersection (like when Google Maps shows you the geographical midpoint of a region, as opposed to any particular place), which showed again that she had put little to no thought or research into this, even though my wife helped her research locations much more than should have been necessary. The day of the shoot, she emailed and texted us many times, seeming to have a lot of trouble with basic geography and complaining about not knowing the area. The HOUR OF the shoot, we received half-a-dozen texts about the location, literally as we were trying to drive there (!). When we got to the location, my wife was almost in tears from frustration. Mariann walked up behind us as we were getting out kids out of the car and overheard us saying we just wanted to get this overwith. Having overheard this brief exchange, she completely freaked out and said she did not want to take our photographs anymore! After messing with our kids' schedule (not the photographer's fault, but shooting at sunset, when young children are typically having dinner and getting ready for bed, is a challenge for parents), forcing them into dresses, etc., we begged her to please take the pictures. We had to grovel and beg her in front of our kids not to storm off! After tons of attitude and threats, she finally agreed, but clearly either her professionalism or skills didn't show up. She didn't have any of the finesse you would expect from a family photographer in terms of getting good shots of the kids. She didn't take any initiative to work with them to get their attention or cooperation. After all the extended drama about the location (not sure why, since she easily could have picked one of the many places my wife recommended...) we ended up just wandering around without a good plan of where to take the pictures. We could see that the kids were getting very cranky, and the photographer had no plan or skill for wrangling them, so we ended the shoot after about an hour, thinking that any good shots should have happened by now. It was a very unpleasant experience. We hoped that at least it would all be worth it when we saw some good photos of our kids, but when we got them we were again disappointed. The kids' features were washed out, so badly that it was like their faces were pure white, and it was hard to even see where the face ended and the neck began. They looked really weird, not like themselves. We didn't get one good family shot, which isn't surprising, since she wasn't even telling us when to look or doing anything else to work with the kids. We were really disappointed by this experience. Mariann was unprofessional, caused us to waste our time, and frustrated us greatly; ending up with a lousy product to show for it. Find someone else. UPDATE: She emailed after seeing this review to attack us in her typically unprofessional way. She's also trying to have this review taken down because she doesn't like it. Too bad, this is the truth, so be warned.

She was already booked so she referred me to Allie, and I am forever grateful! After our initial contact, Allie really took the time to get to know my husband and I, our ideas, and our style. Allie made my husband and I feel so comfortable, as well as my two young stepsons. Leading up to the wedding, Allie answered so many of my questions, helped me with a day of schedule, and really took an interest in the planning process and our life in general. Just as with the engagement shoot, the wedding was everything we could have asked for. Allie made getting a ton of shots in a short time so easy and again, made us all feel really comfortable. Words cannot express how happy we are with the photos Allie captured on our big day. To anyone looking for wedding, family, maternity, or newborn photographers, I HIGHLY recommend Allie Borba.

We inquired via his website which was super easy - the usual information requested along with a short questionnaire so he can gauge what kind of services/vibes we're going for. The response turnaround was less than an hour! We love a quick turnaround :) --- We officially booked him in December with a February photoshoot day. He provided a link to his session guides to help with outfits and general details - this was super helpful & answered a lot of our initial questions. I sent him a bunch of inspo pics that I really liked to help him with the vibe we were going for. He ensured that he would make our pictures special to us but he really appreciated the inspo. We opted for a Downtown Modesto photoshoot (we're locals) - McHenry Mansion, The Intermission, State Theater (we paid for a message on the marquee to read "COMING SOON: The Marinos!") We also wanted to include our pup in one of our pictures and Will was more than happy to accommodate, he even gave us a recommendation of keeping our pup's leash to a neutral color (no reflective leashes or bright colors) because they tend to distract in photos. I never would have thought about that! Sooooo for photoshoot day came &&& he made us feel so comfortable. We aren't the best posers, but he was so patient - he gave us directions when needed but he wanted us to just be ourselves & relax. He would show us previews on his camera throughout the session & they were already amazing so we were excited to see everything he captured. We didn't have to wait long to see our pictures because he got it edited & sent in literally a day, maybe 2 but WOWZERS - WILL HAS A GIFT & our pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL! He was not only extremely professional but he was so helpful with all kinds of wedding planning, even from day one! He was familiar with the area we were getting married in and sent over a few galleries for us to see what he had photographed previously in these areas. We were originally going to split coverage with 2 days of shooting. Will had helped us plan the logistics and timing for both days to ensure we get the best light for photos each day. As with most 2020 weddings, we had to make many changes to our day (and eventually condensed it down to one day with only family) and Will, yet again, helped us plan out a new timeline to ensure that we got all the shots we wanted. We even were able to take a small trip to a different location for our First Look. It is very obvious that Will has been doing this a long time as he has an eye for detail. He helped around the venue on the day of; helping our florist tie down our decorations and being sure my dress was stored safely! My whole family loved Will's friendly disposition and soft-spoken nature. He is overly kind-hearted and he brought out the best in us! Will went above and beyond his duties as a photographer and an artist. He not only captured our special day so we could share it with those that weren't able to join but he gave us well-thought-out works of art that my husband and I will cherish forever. Even after our photos were ready to view, he still put in extra time and effort to make a few adjustments/edits to our prints! In the end, all I can say about Will is that if you have the chance to work with him, do it! His work is breathtakingly beautiful. A true artist ;)
