Tierney Orthotics and Prosthetics is owned and operated by Cynthia Tierney, BOCO, C.Ped. In addition, there is a phenomenal team of women that supports Cynthia in the office. As a customer of Tierney, I greatly appreciate the care and attention provided by the team. The waiting area, patient rooms, and bathroom is always very clean, the staff is super friendly, and I can tell they enjoy working together. Tierney has a wide variety of products to choose from, and the staff works hard to ensure that you are satisfied with what you receive. As a breast cancer survivor and someone who suffers from chronic pain and lymphadema, it is very satisfying to know that there is a company that is dedicated to making life more comfortable and accessible. Tierney is located just off off of Stratford Rd. at 1345 Westgate Center Dr. Suite B. It shares a parking lot with other medical businesses, and sits off in the back and to the left, in a beautiful red brick building with 1345 print at the top of the building. Your GPS may have you stop at the front of the lot when you turn, but keep coming towards the back, and it is on the left in the brick building behind the grey office. They have a ramp for accessibility and once inside, you will enter Suite B on the left. If you have Orthotic or Prosthetic needs, I highly recommend you go by Tierney. When you arrive, tell them Kindra Speech sent ya.

After working with Cindy and her staff to be seen, measured, and the custom garments delivered in a timely manner, I highly recommend them. If you have a referring doctor and/or therapist that has developed a comprehensive plan of treatment and you need a high qulaity manufactured garment this is your place. They have lots of other items available as well, I was there for the compression items. Here is alist of options they have: Orthotics - Custom and off-the-shelf orthopedic bracing Compression - Full line of lymphedema, vascular and burn garments Diabetic footwear - Custom and Extra Depth shoes with multi-density diabetic inserts Shoe inserts - Custom made for superior functional support Mastectomy - Full service of mastectomy prosthetics and bras

I have utilized 2 previous prosthetists when I lived in Portland, Oregon. I have to say that Travis and Jon take care of the client like they are a family member. I don't walk out of the office without having the modifications that supports all of my life functioning activities being perfect. If there is anything that needs to be adjusted, they always find a way to fit me into the schedule. Recently I had to get new legs made. I was so impressed with the latest technology that Travis has learned for his patients. At this time, they used the Ossur TT direct fit socket. This is where they mold a final socket to your leg and you walk out of the office with a completed leg. I had this process done for both legs. At this time, These are the best fitting, most comfortable fitting prosthetics I have ever had in my 3.5 years. I am so thankful for Next Step and the way they treat every client like they are family. They listen to what you want but also will tell you what you need and professionally explain to you why the solution they are proposing and how it relates to long term limb health and viability.

Awesome awesome awesome!!!…read more I was getting my orthotics from another place, and they changed to 3D printing to design my orthotics. I learned after going to LimBionics that I had been sold orthotics commonly used for people with diabetes who usually get 3 pair per year. I just picked up my new orthotics today, and my sciatica and knee problems are gone!!! I've been getting custom orthotics for approximately 20 years, and the relief of my newest pair remind me of the newly found relief I experienced initially. Thank you, LimBionics!!!

I had brain surgery in 2008 that put me into a AFO (ankle foot orthotic) in order for me to walk…read more The AFO's I wear, break down and wear out every couple of years and they become extremely painful to wear. I needed a new AFO made desperately. My sister, a nurse, saw an ad for Limbionics and gave it to me. I didn't have high hopes as my old AFO was in such poor shape that a quarter-size blister developed on my ankle and walking was nearly impossible. I had gone from a single tip cane to a quad tip cane to my wheelchair within months. However, Brittany Stresing, the owner of Limbionics of Durham, and a ABC certified Prosthetist and Orthotist, made a new AFO for me that has me not only impressed, but also has me walking again with a single tip cane! My first trip to their office in Durham was a pleasent consultation and casting of my foot and lower leg. I was greeted by the office receptionist, Dusti, who offered me a cold beverage and signed me in. Dusti was very thorough in scheduling my appointment and following up after to ensure all the required paperwork was completed. I then met with the Orthotist, Brittany Stresing. Brittany asked me several questions about what I liked, and what I disliked about my AFO to get an idea of what had to be made. My second trip was when my AFO had arrived. Unfortunately, there were some issues that required the AFO to be completely remade. Brittany could have made some modifications to make the AFO work, but she knew it wouldn't be right. She insisted it needed to be remade to be right, I didn't have high hopes. However, Brittany proved me wrong and the second AFO fit me better than any AFO I have had to date, and I've had a few since 2008! I couldn't say enough positive things about Limbionics of Durham, if you need a Orthotic or Prosthetic made, I would highly recommend seeing them.
