Dawdling slow, reading placards, taking some pictures, & talking with the very friendly volunteer on site, it took only about an hour for me to see the displays on the lower floor of this Sears kit house from back in the day when a whole house could be a DIY project. Upper floor is admin spaces. If you're looking to fill a quick time slot in your schedule, this museum may well be your jam.

Thousands of photographs going back a 100 years to look through. Incredible artifacts to look at. They even have a gift shop with hard to find books and art for sale. This was the second time we've been there. This time they had a surfing display. The history of surfing in Port A goes back to the early 60s. I've been surfing for almost 30 years and I learned a lot. They had some really nice classic boards, memorabilia, artwork, stories, and tons of photos. We really enjoyed it. You should stop in here whenever you visit Port A. You will be blown away.

Also, everything sold over priced due to the event most likely. In general a really bad experience, would never attend again.

I won free tickets on the radio to attend, and had a great time at the Palmilla Resort and Golf Course listening to a Jimmy Buffet cover band! The CofC did a great job of promoting local businesses, getting the word out about opportunities within the city, and just broadcasting and advocating about the Port Aransas community! I could see that a whole lot of work went into planning this event, and they worked seamlessly with the Palmilla Golf Course to make sure that everything went off without a hitch! I appreciate that Port Aransas isn't covered with chain restaurants and mega-stores, that it's a place where you can get a sense of the local flavor through small, local businesses. I hope it stays that way, and the Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce seems to be working really hard to make that happen! Huzzah!
