I immediately fell in love with the Spanish moss hanging from the trees and definitely wanted to capture that "southern" look. Also, there are places off the beaten path near little waterfalls and rushing water for more picture opportunities. Since then, I've returned with my family and friends for a relaxing stroll in nature. I enjoy the paths, especially for my young daughter. They have so much to offer: kayak rentals, bicycle rentals, a cooling off area for both humans and pets, bike repair station, a playground, etc. I appreciate that they have clean restrooms available as well as trash cans, and doggy doo receptacles. This place is so far off the beaten path even the trusted GPS on my phone failed me. Entering in the physical address will get you close, but you will need to drive another 1.5 miles once you've "reached your destination". You won't be able to miss the stone and iron rod gate marked as The Southern Barn at Neely Farms. It's a gravel road downhill so take it slow. Parking will be to the left, the barn and pond will be to the right. Just before the barn is where I performed the outdoor wedding. The sunset with live music being performed and the trees and pond as a background made for a gorgeous ceremony (and no, not just because of the guy in the black suit leading the whole thing). The Barn itself is not only beautiful, but massive in size! The outdoor patio area wraps around three sides, with the pond facing side turning into a porch with rocking chairs. Inside is the changing rooms upstairs, plenty of floor space on the ground level, and a back barn door that opens for carters and such. There is little needed for decor as the woodwork on this place is all the eye needs to behold. If you have a special day coming up, give them a call.

When one uses the word "farm" in the name of a wedding venue, I am slightly suspicious. I have been…read moreon a few farms in my life and a barn or a pony does not constitute one. Thankful here they live up to the name. First the location. Because it is off the beaten path and not directly in Richmond or Columbia County, some may assume it is a far drive. At 12-20 miles, it is not that far at all. But when you arrive, you will feel as though you have left the busyness and noise of city and suburban life far behind. Though I am unsure of the exact amount of acreage, I would give a fairly confident estimate of over 100. The open fields and the horses who seem to just be out for a afternoon stroll make you wonder if this is more venue or peaceful retreat. The focal point is the large barn, Magnolia Barn, where everything from dancing to food and drink to a cocktail area await. There is another barn, a cabin, and a chapel onsite as well (though a outdoor ceremony is a option). You have a firepit surrounded by porch swings and fresh air to soothe the soul. I love this venue and hope I have the opportunity to visit it more in the future.

I enjoy the ceremony, the smiles-laughs-tears shared by the couple, and seeing the host venue. You will find this place pleasantly surprising. It is not far off Peach Orchard Road (approx. 1.5 miles). As the name suggests, it has a large barn. The barn houses changing rooms, restrooms, a dining area large enough to have the cocktail and indoor/outdoor seating separate. There is a separate small house for the bride and bridal party. The team here are super friendly and ready to help you if needed. I enjoy the outdoor chapel and how the beginning of the aisle is bordered by plants. The aisle itself and the chancel (upfront) are cement. This allows for a smooth walking and non-dress dirting occasion. The archway that serves as a backdrop is beautiful, with the vines and lights interwoven. I also love the scenery of the rows of trees and the horses walking around just in the distance. I have been here twice in the past year and I look forward to returning.

You can spend 30 minutes to several hours there. It is a wonderful place to sit and meditate. The building is absolutely beautiful inside and out. They do rent it out for cultural events and weddings.

But sometimes you have to update a review and remind everyone about the consistency of a place. This is such a review. Sacred Heart has a rich history and thankfully is still being used today (for events and office space). What I love is that the committee in charge of upkeep do their job well. It is always pristine and looking as beautiful as my last visit every time I enter the doors. It is open during the week to the public so be sure to stop by and see it for yourself one day soon.

We rented this venue for our daughters Sweet 16 and we couldn't have picked a more suitable…read morelocation. They have a large industrial kitchen that we used to prepare some of the food and the extra large kitchen space made decorating her birthday cake and cake pops stress free. The tables and chairs were included in the rental price and a bar cart was available that we used for mocktails. We were allowed access to the facility the day before to decorate and the checkout list was not ridiculous. The conference room is large and was able to accommodate a cake table, a Dj station, mocktail bar, food table, gift table, teepee/play area for the kids and have enough room for a dance floor. There are cabins available for rent at the campground and we rented one so we weren't driving back and forth to our house in Grovetown multiple times and it gave us a place to shower and get ready for the party. Friends and family pulled their campers into the campground and camped for the weekend which made it easier for them as well.
