Specialized in elementary school art education, Ashley encourages kids to explore all kinds of art media. My daughter learned to use chalk, acrylic, oil color in the summer camp. Ashley is very nice too. My daughter likes her a lot. We were thrilled when Ashley told us she opened an art studio. The new studio is located in a business park, very clean and tastefully decorated. The tuition is very reasonable. $20 for Saturday morning session and $30 for the evening session. She also provide week day evening classes. If you are looking for an art teacher in the NW Greensboro area, I recommend you check out Ashley's studio first.

So many amazing food choices!…read more I had such a great time at Savor Fest in High Point! One of my favorite things about the event was seeing such a diverse selection of food all in one place. There were so many different cuisines and options that honestly, choosing just one was almost impossible! I spent a good chunk of my time walking around trying to decide what I wanted because everything looked and smelled SO good. I finally settled on Pinoy BBQ, Kao Thai, and Nola Food Truck, and I definitely made some great choices. All three were delicious and gave me a chance to try completely different flavors. Savor Fest is definitely the kind of event where you need to come hungry and preferably with a group so you can try a little bit of everything! I really enjoyed being able to experience so many different foods and local vendors in one place. If you're a foodie, I'd definitely recommend checking out Savor Fest!

They did have a good variety, with many styles and ethnicities of food represented. My biggest complaint is the sampling tickets did not provide apples to apples portion samples between the trucks. One truck would give a big sample, the next would give a really small sample, some trucks would only give a discount, others didn't accept the tickets at all. I did end up getting a tasty chicken skewer sample from Pinoy BBq, but again, being from Raleigh, not sure I'll ever come across them again. If they do the event again I think opening it to kore local trucks would be the way to go. Also, maybe waiting until the weather is just a bit cooler would be better all around

First and foremost, Spooky Woods only honors military discounts for active duty members, not their families. If your spouse is deployed or TDY, you cannot use your dependent ID to claim the advertised BOGO tickets. Additionally, the attraction does not recognize Gold Star families, which was especially disheartening after my friend--who lost her loved one in active duty--was also turned away. I strongly encourage management to reconsider this policy, as these families have made profound sacrifices and deserve recognition. We attended on opening night and waited approximately three hours in line. While some wait time is expected, better organization could greatly improve the experience. There were fun moments--music, light interaction, and themed characters--but compared to a competitor we visited the night before (which featured a full fall festival and concert guests could enjoy while waiting), the overall setup here felt less engaging and far less efficient. There was also a bar halfway through the line, but guests were not informed during ticketing that a green wristband was required to purchase drinks. After standing in line for hours, many people were understandably frustrated when they discovered this too late. Clearer communication would easily fix this issue. The "Bates Motel" and "Camp Crystal Lake" sets were the standout features in terms of design and atmosphere. However, the actor performances lacked coordination and consistency--several repeated the same handful of lines, and some of the scariest characters weren't even in their designated themed areas. One performer in particular, a female clown with black and white hair, blew an air horn directly into my mother's and my ears at close range, causing immediate ringing and a migraine that lingered for hours. That kind of proximity-based scare tactic poses legitimate safety concerns and should be addressed immediately. Furthermore, the terrain was uneven and poorly lit, with unexpected drops and steps that posed a hazard, especially for elderly guests. Adding proper signage, lighting, or a simple warning at the entrance would help prevent potential injuries. Overall, while there were moments of entertainment and strong visual effects, the experience did not align with the ticket price or expectations.

I purchased four bottles and left with one :) The entertainment was very enjoyable; the SB Band really kept the crowd hyped! The down side was the food situation. Porterhouse was there and they never disappoint. But with only 2 trucks, 3 if you count the pizza slice trailer, the wait was ridiculous AND outside food was not an option :( I expect better next year, I can't wait.

We had to park in the grass, and unfortunately when we tried to leave, the entrance to that parking spot was blocked off so we had to drive very carefully off the median onto the road. They do have carts that will transport you to and from your car, but we decided to walk. The line seemed extremely long when we first got there, but we got in pretty quickly. Make sure you bring your ID's because they do check before you enter. They give you a complementary wine glass, along with a brochure listing all of the wineries in attendance, which was nice. There are a lot of wineries, but I expected to see more than were there. We skipped a few because they had just typical wines. I'm not usually a big wine drinker, but after spending the day tasting different kinds, a few have definitely won me over! If you ever go in the future, be sure to stop at Southern Charm Winery's tent (if they're there). I literally loved every single wine they had to offer. My favorite was the Edisto Black. It is amazing! I'd have to say they are officially my favorite winery. Shadow Springs Vineyards has a very good strawberry wine. The lines were a little long, but that was to be expected. The band was great! I also loved the location, being it is in the same parking lot as one of my favorite restaurants (Moose Cafe). Be sure to stop there on your way out!

We recently had our High Point Central High School Class of 2000 25-year reunion at Congdon Yards…read more Our reunion took place on the third floor of "The Factory" building, inside "The Spinning Room." In short, I thought the space worked out great for the event. The event had less than 100 guests, catering by Pepper Moon Catering of Greensboro, a cash bar, music, an Epson projector and screen for a presentation/slideshow, and speakers with microphone. Take a look at my pictures to get a feel for the event space, vibe, and decor. On a Friday night, parking was free, plentiful, and easy. Congdon Yards consists of two 1920s Adams-Millis hosiery factory buildings in downtown High Point, next to Truist Point (baseball stadium). The property is named after the Congdon family, founders of Old Dominion Freight Line of Thomasville. Congdon Yards isn't the first time these old multistory brick buildings have been repurposed into event spaces and for other uses. In 2010, I attended a wedding at "The Loft at Union Square," which I believe is now "The Loft" at Congdon Yards: https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-loft-at-union-square-high-point The current incarnation of Congdon Yards opened in phases beginning in late 2020. The first building, branded as "Plant Seven," opened in spring 2021. The second building, The Factory, opened on June 12, 2023. The Loft is located on the fourth floor of The Factory. There are a multitude of rooms and event spaces, designed for weddings, parties, business meetings, lectures/presentations, etc. There are also public common areas, a cafe, a restaurant, offices, and "The Generator." The Generator provides access to industrial-grade woodworking machines for niche projects, an obvious nod to High Point, "the furniture capital of the world." The cafe is called Lil's Coffee Bar. It's located at "The Commons" in Plant Seven. It's only open Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. The restaurant is called Earl's Landing. It's located on the first floor of The Factory. It's fine dining; open Monday-Saturday for dinner only and Sunday for brunch only. In general, Congdon Yards is a nice upgrade to High Point's downtown scene, which continues to evolve thanks to Business High Point-Chamber of Commerce, the HP365 nonprofit, state grants, and private donations and investments. It's well done and similar to a lot of other popular and successful revitalization projects around the country, where "historic" buildings have been restored and adapted for modern mixed use. Like those developments, the Congdon Yards designers did a good job blending contemporary elements into the old factory spaces while preserving their rustic feel.
