I've hired her for our annual family photos during the holidays over the last four years, and have never been disappointed. It doesn't matter if we're disheveled and tired or if the kids are being fussy - she's always able to get great shots of us. She has a gorgeous portfolio of outdoor pictures, but her in-studio set designs are also very well done, creative and unique. One year for Christmas, she had my son blow on confetti and made it look like flying specs of light (or Tinkerbell's fairy dust) in post production. Another year, she had him toss pillow stuffing in the air to create the illusion of playing in the snow. This year, she had both of my kids play with string lights under strung cotton puffs and giant white cone-shaped trees. I also follow her on Instagram, where she shows off great day-in-the-life photos as well. What I love best is that she's a nice person with tons of patience and a great personality. That means a whole lot after spending time coordinating outfits (with an extra for the baby just in case), patting down the frizzies and cow-lick hair, making sure the makeup stays on, and praying that everyone gives their best smiles. Happy photog hunting everyone (but the hunt should stop here)!

She captured our wedding day in April and memorialized the day for us with a gorgeous gallery of images that capture the essence of the day and the love between my husband and I and the joy of our family and friends. Though a little windy at times, the images Alyssa took depict the beauty of the natural surroundings and highlight the joy and emotions felt by all there. She has such a great eye for natural surroundings and got amazing shots of us with the oak trees that look so magical. She was able to work with the elements to get great pictures even in the blustery conditions. Her gallery impressed my husband and I with so many wonderful shots of us as well as amazing family formal portraits. The whole experience with Alyssa was effortless, much like how she was able to capture us in our pictures. Her communication leading up the big day was clear and helped to point out some areas of consideration that I had forgotten. Her wedding experience shined in her ability to wrangle the groomsmen and keep our lofty picture schedule on time. We had many family pictures that she was able to breeze through which left us time to be a part of the cocktail hour and be present for the majority of the wedding which was important to us. She continuously impressed us throughout the day, helping the DJ with his schedule and even at one point passing out wine and glasses to our tables. As I was not able to have a wait staff due to COVID, this was so amazing and completely above and beyond her duties. Having vendors like Alyssa can really transform your somewhat hectic and stressful wedding day by helping you to soak in the moments and be present. My parents raved about her and her second shot photographer for weeks after the event, so impressed by her and her professionalism. The gallery she delivered is just amazing and we are still discovering new favorites. The task of creating a wedding album will be challenging, only because there are so many amazing images to choose from! Alyssa has cemented her place in our hearts. We definitely will be coming back to Alyssa to capture our future life events.

First off, booking was easy (responds fastly) and she was more than accommodating. I had to cancel my engagement photoshoot the first time, bc my grandfather had just passed away and the pandemic had started. Life was hard at that time and even though I canceled with Alyssa, she took the time to reach out to me (she doesn't know it but her emails made me felt better!) That is the type of person Alyssa is. Once life had gotten back on track I knew that I had to book her for my engagement photoshoot and she did not disappoint! Her energy is so uplifting and it made the whole session that much fun and the session was nothing but good vibes. I'm the type who only knows 1-2 poses Therefore I was nervous and pinned a whole bunch of pictures to get an idea. Thank goodness for Alyssa who've taught us how to pose and couched us through ALL of the poses. Her directions were so easy and simple to follow! The pictures came out natural and I absolutely love them! I definitely will book Alyssa for upcoming events or just for funsies, and highly recommend any one who is looking for a photographer to book with Alyssa :)

Becca goes above, beyond, and "Yes, and!"…read more When my guy and I were searching for wedding photographers, we noticed from her galleries that she knew her way around redheads :P and that her candids really captured the character of the people and the energy of the event. When we started talking to her and working with her, we were also really excited and impressed by her creativity and the way she collaborated to expand on our vision. We had some amazingly ridiculous ideas for our engagement shoot and she affirmed AND added to them; she showed the eff up, and drove around Oakland with us, props and costumes in tow (she even responded to a drunk photo-bomber with grace and grit :P) We were shocked at how much fun we had! Both of us are kind of allergic to canned/posed photos, and Becca has an amazing balance of making sure our heads were tilted the right way so the composition still looks good, but not giving sooo much direction that it would be super stiff and awkward. We were cracking up at some of her prompts: "Okay so Lizzy, I want your shoulders turned this way but your energy going that way" and honestly, it worked! She knows how to cultivate a really nuanced and connected experience by describing things really specifically but leaving a lot of room for our playful interpretation and authenticity. On the wedding day, she brought the same balance of flexibility and strength/leadership. I had at least 2.5 meltdowns, and Becca was kind and solid throughout everything. She got so many amazing shots, and I actually heard from multiple guests about her calm and enthusiastic presence. One thousand percent recommend! Thank you so much, Becca. You're a superstar and we're so thrilled with every element of your work :)

She had great ideas for photos and she was game for ours as well. The photos made it to us promptly and we couldn't be happier with the way they turned out. We look forward to having another opportunity to work with Becca again!

We were very happy with his work, start to finish. He helped us to preserve our memories in such a beautiful way! Absolutely recommended. Especially of note: He promised us a certain amount of time for engagement photos. We finished at our first location, McKinley Park in Sacramento. That had used up most of the time. Then, we went to the Capitol, where we spent another large chunk of time. Then, HE insisted that we go to our third location, Old Sacramento, because the light would be gone soon. She was a bit closer to the top of our budget but we wanted to prioritize having a high quality photographer for our wedding. We had never been professionally photographed before our engagement session and Jess made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. She helped us pick meaningful and beautiful locations and gave us just enough coaching to yield some great shots. Our wedding was delayed a year due to Covid and Jess was very reasonable in allowing us to adjust to our new date. She kept up appropriate contact so we were prepared well in advance and were not stressed about how things would work on the day.
