They had phenomenal Google reviews in both of their locations (Jupiter & Stuart), so I figured I would give them a try.
Boy was I in for an unpleasant ride.
The very first time I called in to make an appointment, I was required to put down a $50, non-refundable fee, unless I called 24 hours prior with a legitimate reasoning for cancellation. This seemed a bit odd to me as no other doctor's appointment I have made in my lifetime has required any payment prior to the visit (and, additionally, usually waves the first missed appointment fee), but because of their stellar reviews, I went for it.
Unfortunately, I was unable to make the appointment, and could not cancel in time to receive the $50 fee back. That was fine with me, as those were the agreed upon terms.
Fast forward roughly 2 weeks later, and 2-3 additional appointments are made without my authorization or approval. I never called in, filled out any online forms, or anything of that matter, yet appointments were made on my behalf.
As of today, October 13th, 2020, I decided to call in to first and foremost, figure out what the deal was and why appointments were being made by either their system or the staff without my authorization. When I asked, I was immediately told I had missed 3 appointments, and payment in full (the appointment fee is roughly $300 for a 210 day medicinal marijuana card - yes, it's highway robbery) due to the several no shows.
I was pretty frustrated at this point. All I had wanted to do was figure out why their system or staff had continued to reschedule me (no one has access or would call on my behalf to reschedule, for anyone wondering), and they completely ignored my inquiry. I then asked to speak to management, as the lady at the front desk told me management was the one with these allegations.
After speaking with another lady who was a supposed part of their management, I couldn't have been more appalled by her inability to let one finish their sentence, lack of basic managorial qualities (kindness, respect, patience), and overall attitude in regards to the situation. She told me i must have been the one to reschedule, as their staff (and she acted very offended at this point) not systems would ever reschedule an appointment on someone's behalf, and proceeded to state that she could schedule another appointment with a full deposit ($300) from me over the phone. I tried explaining my situation, and that no one, nor I, called in to make any additional appointments, yet she continued to speak over me with a disrespectful and annoyed tone.
I then made one simple request - send me the logs from your system, showing that I made several calls in to your office to make these appointments. She said she would get back to me in a couple of days.
Long story short, the amount of disrespect and immaturity from their staff - namely the management side of things - was impeccable. They are clearly only concerned about getting your money, and nothing else. The irony of it all is, if they simply admitted to their wrongdoings, or at least very kind, calm, and complacent with me while I explained my issues, they may have kept my business.
There are an abundance of these medical marijuana doctors down here in Florida - do yourself a favor and find a practice that values your well being and word over your wallet.
