I received an email about a free mindfulness meditation session. The email came from an instructor…read moreI had at UNR that teaches Mindful Leadership. I've been trying to turn things around in my life lately so this came at a perfect time. This free, one hour session runs at 5pm on the third Wednesday of each month. I arrived and entered the building from the back and could easily see where the session was being held. I took a seat as people started filing in. There were probably about 12-15 of us. Yvonne, the leader, introduced herself and told us that she held her first session in January. She explained a little bit about Midtown Mindfulness and began the guided meditation. Afterwards, she provided some written material to help us understand how mindfulness can help us. Although the session is free, donations help pay the rent and are very much appreciated. In addition to meditation, Midtown Mindfulness also offers psychotherapy, psychiatry, massage, reiki and yoga. If you are looking to reduce the stress in your life, mindful meditation is a great way to get started.

Im new to the area and had purchased a Groupon with hopes of finding a Massuese in the area. Im in the medical field and massages are my weekly self-care. I was booked for a massage on July 24th ONLY to receive a text the day before my appointment notifying me that she will no longer honor Groupons and that the appointment will be canceled unless the service is paid (with increase fee). Perhaps an earlier courtesy call is too much to ask for?!? Also if you are NOT going to honor a Groupon why register your business on the site. You lost an opportunity to establish a long term customer. Absolutely unacceptable.
