Dr. Mullin is the best physical therapist clinic in San Luis Obispo county. Having tried many, I…read morecan say that with confidence. After decades of martial arts practice, including 8 years of hard core Brazilian Ju Jitsu, my 70 year old body has needed lots of physical therapy for many hurting joints and strains. Recently plagued with a very tight right side QL muscle in my back, I went to several therapists who tried various leg exercises and spinal manipulations which only worsened the condition. During the first two minutes with Dr. Mullin she got to the source of the issue, with my hip alignment being 1 inch out. Neither of the previous DPT's had even checked this. Her recommendations were spot on and helped me get back onto the water, sculling again. Thank you Dr. Mullin.

This physical therapy practice is like an oasis in a medical desert. This is the only place (that I…read moreknow of) in the Central Coast that is educated about connective tissue disorders, especially Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. My PT, Logan Marshall, was cheerful, very knowledgeable, and created a treatment plan to specifically work with my EDS. The office is great with communication and even accepts insurance! I have nothing but good things to say about this practice and highly recommend it. 10/10

I was suffering from Sciatic nerve pain that felt like a toothache in my leg! It also got worse…read moreevery time I got a vaccination, which is about every month nowadays. I had trouble getting treatment because of COVID, and could just manage to use the hot tub at the local gym for its soothing relief. I finally got a new doctor at UCLA and got recommended to Movement for Life Physical Therapy. This was the first and least invasive step for treatment, and has proved a great success. Matt first prescribed a series of exercises to strengthen the muscles around the area, and this helped increase flexibility and movement. When the exercises got painful, he realigned my hip socket and amazingly, the electric shock like pain I had in my leg was gone. This was about two weeks ago, and I am happy to say that the pain has not returned, so I am a happy camper. Every one I have encountered there has been upbeat, and helpful! It is a spacious, modern facility, and there is always a lot of parking. Movement for Life is located near the SLO airport, and is convenient to Route 227, a main thoroughfare into or out of town. I mention this because my previous PT was at a facility in the middle of SLO, where you had to wait to park, then dart for Highway 101 in the hopes of avoiding rush hour.

EDIT: And this is a BIG EDIT!!!…read more After Logan left, Brandon took over my PT. I continued to progress, and I have now "graduated" from PT. My range of motion is better than before, my pain is ZERO, and I honestly believe that Movement for Life saved my life. The surgery would have been dangerous, the surgeon I was paired up with is horrible, and the VA did an amazing job of sticking with me through this last year. I am, finally, healed. Thank you, M4L, Logan, Brandon, Abby, and the entire M4L staff. Thank you. It's no secret that the Baby Jesus of PT left for another job.. these things happen.. Most places, however, can't recover from losing their Golden Cow. M4L has done an exceptional job, Avi has taken over my PT and I'm continuing the miraculous recovery promised to me in the New Testament!.... I've been to physical therapy before, I have over 20 years of back pain experience. I've never felt as strongly about a physical therapist in the past as I feel about Logan. OK, maybe he isn't always my favorite person, sometimes PT is painful, but Logan makes it always bearable. He actually listens! I have "severe stenosis" of my C6-7, a "pinched nerve". I have no doubt I'll have surgery, but Logan has made the time while getting diagnosed (which he did perfectly without an MRI!!) and inevitable surgery bearable. I was in extreme and unrelenting pain, Logan has not only confirmed my diagnosis, but has made the wait time for full resolution actually bearable. I rate him above all but 1 of the doctors I've ever seen for pain... and I've seen a LOT of doctors over 25 years.

This company deals in HAND THERAPY only. I had an appointment post surgery for my right hand that…read morehad a long screw holding 2 bones together and I had to be extremely careful. My appointment was with giggly Amy who said she had a great deal of education and training. The splint she built for me had no padding and when I moved my wrist the bone at the base of my wrist would change position and hurt like crazy. Trying to drive with the splint lasted 10 minutes. I went back to have it adjusted and Amy was gone. The therapist they sat me next to knew I was waiting for him but he never acknowledged me so after 30 minutes I left. I was tempted to drill a round hole in the cast half-splint to relieve the pressure on the bone which would have been the best answer. I went in for my next appointment and Amy reformed the splint and stuck a tiny this sponge over the bone. The splint was loose and sloppy around the broken area and was useless. She had me do my home exercise of 4 minutes because she had to help a different patient whose therapist was out of the office. Of course they charged for a total therapy session. That was my last visit. I would not recommend this company at all.

HIPAA Violation; Unhelpful Front Office Staff…read more We were referred to Aspire by our PCP at Family & Industrial Medical. We are cash-paying patients who pay in full on the day of treatment and then mail our medical bills and records to our medical bill sharing plan for reimbursement. The staff person at Aspire made an appointment for my husband and then told us that she could not provide us with medical bills or records. When I questioned this, she simply responded "We don't do that." I again tried to explain how our plan worked and that we simply need a typical copy of the records, sometimes referred to as a 'patient ledger', a 'detailed itemized bill' or as a standard CMS1450, UB-04 or a CMS1500. She again stated that they do not provide those to patients and then told us: "Perhaps you should find another therapist." We were completely flabbergasted by her attitude. We have had this plan for years and have never had an issue with receiving treatment, including orthopedic surgery. Most providers love this system as it allows them to be paid in full, immediately, with no additional paperwork for their staff. We left the office with the appointment intact, and once home, I called our plan administrators to explain the issue. Several phone calls were exchanged both with our plan and the Aspire office. The front desk staffer at Aspire on two of those calls again told me to find another therapy office. When on the third call, I said that refusing to provide a patient with their medical bills is a violation of the law, she blithely responded, "I've never heard of that law." She told me she would 'research it' and get back to me. Needless to say, a week later, I haven't heard from her, nor do I expect to. I will be reporting their office for HIPAA violations to the appropriate authorities in California.
