Brought in my new 10lb co2 tank to get refilled and they gave me an expired tank in exchange.

Man, these guys are great. If you are going to spend some money in San Jose on hydroponics for it here. Started off my having an issue upon walking in. I left. Went to my car, wrote a negative review and was preparing to leave when I realized: I needed to tell them my issues with the shop in person if I was going to do so online. So I went in. Started off super upset and was quickly put at ease and the issue was immediately seen to. Here is where things get good. I asked the guy to help me out with a setup. Not only did he do that, but took the time to explain the science behind every step. I'm in this industry and needed some help with some rather advanced questions and this guy really helped out. I have 10 years professional experience and didn't really think I'd learn much during my visit but as soon as the customer service part of our visit was done I quickly realized I'd do well to ask this gentleman questions and listen to the answers. He had 15 years experience that sounded like 30. Planned to spend more than I did and purchase more than I did. I spent less and was assured I didn't need more. Where else, in any industry will someone tell you "oh, you don't need to spend more". It goes against the American capitalist business model not to squeeze me for a bit more cash so you can continue to grow. Thanks. read more

I went in to get some supplies for my garden. First thing I notice upon walking in, not a single employee is adhering to the "SIP" orders. Nobody was wearing masks, gloves, or adhering to social distancing. I went in with my pregnant wife and was immediately uncomfortable with the lack of social distancing I saw and was forced to experience. Finally go to checkout. All I say is, "It's gonna be a hot one today huh? With everything going on that's gonna suck." The cashier then proceeds to tell me how George Floyd's murder wasn't real. It didn't happen. It was staged and the cop was and is an actor. Then he goes off about how Coronavirus also isn't real and is a hoax by the government. Umm okay? Can I please leave now?!? I am so off put by the experience I had here yesterday! The guy really said George Floyd wasn't murdered! Can I just please buy my nutrients and get the heck out of this store!?! Don't go here! There are a bunch of other hydro stores where you're not forced to deal with all this crap I dealt with! No masks? Fine, I guess I'll deal. But when you start going on a rant about how the things happening in America right now aren't real? Gimme a break! God, I'm getting even more mad thinking about my experience yesterday as I type this review. Totally unprofessional horrible service! Go someplace else if you're reading this! read more

Needed a particular brand of soil and San Jose Hydroponics was a local distributor. So I drove there to support a local business. I ended up learning so much about growing plants in the time I spent in that store. David went out of his way to listen to each one of my questions carefully and respond meticulously. Every suggestion I got from him was reasonable and scientifically sound. I never felt pushed to buy anything from them throughout my time at the store. With my new knowledge, I purchased exactly what I needed for my plants. I found the experience refreshing. read more

I was looking for a hobby. I decided to try growing a few indoor plants. I happened by San Jose hydroponics. I walked in knowing nothing about growing good plants. David the manager help me to understand some basics. He helped me to assemble small dirt assembly including a great LED light. The price was great and even delivered it for me. He help me with his vast knowledge to simplify the process. He continues to help me with good advice. My plants are growing with great promise. Harvest time is coming .! Yeah.! Good people, great service. read more

Didn't even want to walk into this store, the two guys I saw were not wearing mask. Didn't even get to check it out, what a bummer.

After 30 something years of being a loyal Summer Winds Campbell customer for all of my nutritional needs, I've decided to be loyal to you forever! Never out of stock and you guys rock as far as customer service goes. Vast array of products and at wonderful price points too. Literally the only problem I have is you guys are 15 miles away from home and I can't kidnap your employees for 24/7 product knowledge. I always learn something new with each visit. My yard is thriving despite a very challenging year with odd climate changes and pests. You guys are totally worth the drive! Keep the great work up! You guys are seriously a gem. read more

Was looking for some general hydroponics products. David helped me out a lot and even helped me pick out the correct products. We chatted about different nutrient solutions and different ways to stabilize temperature. I've been back several times and each time its been a pleasure. Go support local! read more

Only reason i give them a 1 star is because i cant give them 0. I called in for a few phone quotes and was told they carried the items but when i showed up the items where nowhere to be found. They worker that helped me was very rude and was unwilling to help me. They have no idea what they are talking about when asked on how something is used or set up. Over all it was a bad trip for me and i will no be returning there. read more

If you need the stuff they have the stuff even if its just information or advice.. They have a big selection and have always been available to answer my questions. read more

This place is awesome. The people are super friendly. They do a good job helping you out with whatever you need. I was looking for an exceptionally hard to get product and had been turned away from multiple other stores due to the difficulty in finding a supplier. The guy at the front went out of his way to order it just for me! That's the kind of experience I want at a store. Don't listen to the stupid annoying personalities complaining about the people who work there or making up fake things about them. I went in and talked with them and got a completely different story about some of the people who left one stars and then made up fantastic stories about why they were treated poorly. Here's a tip, it's because you suck as a person. You're trashy and have a bad personality and don't know how to interact appropriately with people in a calm social setting. But unfortunately scum bag customers like them are attracted to the hydro industry. Good to know you spent your stimulus check on stuff for growing weed than supplies for your coming baby you loser. read more

This place is great! I gave them three stars because yelp sucks and businesses shouldnt have to pay to keep good reviews. Really they deserve 5 stars and a hug! Anyway they helped me when I really needed it. My favorite plant snapped and I wanted to save it, so they showed me how to make clones and sold me the proper equipment I needed. The staff is truly knowledgeable. They showed true compassion and sympathy. Not only that but I paid under $20 for everything (clone lesson + instructions+ supplies) I needed + got some free plant food samples. Thank you so much San Jose Hydroponics! I felt really taken care of, and calmed and assured about my plant. Now what are you doing still reading this review? Get on over there and get your green thumb going, this place is Great! read more

Don't bother with anywhere else. I've checked out some of the other shops, but trust me, this is the one you're looking for, a lot of used items, huge inventory, good prices, very informed staff, just a good vibe overall. Talk to Kenny if you're doing full hydro. The guy know his stuff. Recommended! read more

I've been to many different hydroponic store's and by far this is my favorite. They have everything that you need and then some. They carry all the big name brand's and off brand for very reasonable prices. The grow light selection is massive with used equipment for the grower on a budget. The staff is very knowledgeable, save yourself some money and check this place out first. read more

San Jose Hydroponics - Hydroponics Near Me - San Jose, California

Im a new grower. Like 3 days new. I spoke with DAVID at the front desk and i explained my situation for my plant. He skillfully knew exactly what to do, around what stage of growth my plant was in and what nutrients it needed. He schooled me on the entire process of growing my plant, the schedule, the ammount, maintenance, aswell as many warning signs!! Absolutely THRILLED to come out of there feeling like i know what i was doing! HIGHLY recommend coming here for knowledgeable staff read more

This hydro store is superior to other stores nearby. You can see that RASA advertises when you click on San Jose Hydroponics because heavy advertising is RASA's only way to make up for a dwindling customers. San Jose Hydroponics is much better organized, better stocked and lower cost across the board. read more

I'm old, I don't like or get along with many people. Great people don't go any where else and waste your time and money. Good selection of a bunch of stuff i don't need, but always has the little things i do. read more

Wow, place seems nice, however. Way more expensive than other suppliers and you want to give people the benefit of the doubt when they are ringing you up. Found I got overcharged and all sales final and restocking 20 fees if you want to return items. Not a place I want to go back to. read more

No gloves, masks or social distancing enforced as if COVID didn't exist. Guys at the front were too preoccupied with someone spending over $500 to get me some soil. read more

This is the second time I have gone to their store and they have opened late. When I mentioned to the guy that he lost a customer while I was waiting for him to open, his response was that it is only 11:10. Yeah, dude, you were 10 minutes late to work. It just isn't professional. Some of their prices are pretty fair, I've found things cheaper there than online. They have a shelf of stuff you can buy second hand, got a great deal on a EZ clone machine from that. Customer service is great if the right guy is working. Whoever opened today wasn't as helpful as he could have been, didn't even apologize for being late. read more

these guys are knowledgeasble and very nice. chris is the expert i talked to and very personable. they really know what they're talking about. the other dood, a viet owner is very cool as well. they both are very kind hearted and will help you with whatever your trying to grow. its kind of nice because theyre not trying to make a killing on a sale, but only trying to sell to you what you need rather then get you to buy a bunch of stuff that you dont need. i like that. read more

Love these guys !! They have a lot to choose from. They're all always so helpful and very knowledgeable they're eager to help you and answer any questions you may have. San Jose Hydroponics - Hydroponics Near Me - San Jose, California

These guys have the best pricing for gardening supplies I have found. They really know their business and are very helpful and professional.

This place is great! I checked San Jose Hydroponics out for their grand opening and I have to say that their prices seem to be pretty incredible. I was actually a little bummed that I had just paid a lot more for some nutrients at another local shop a few days before. I've actually already been back several times and have to say that the experience seems to only be improving (they even lowered their prices from the grand opening). The selection of Advanced Nutrients products is very good. I also like how all of the nutrients are on the same wall, it makes it easier to kind of scan and see what you want. I paid $29 for 1L of the liquid Big Bud. That seemed to be pretty competitive to what I've seen online. Overall I think this place is definitely worth checking out. You may not be able to find absolutely everything you are looking for, but they have only been in business for a few weeks so I expect the selection will only improve. The prices here are just so reasonable that I really don't think you can walk away unhappy. This is an easy 5 star rating for me. read more

Seems a little strange when they complete a sale transaction then tell me that they can't give me a receipt for the Nectar of the Gods nutrients because they gave me a great deal on the price but they really really didn't. Really wanted to give them a 0 but ........can't. Will not go back there again. read more

These guys are my go to guys for growing. Been in 3 times and every time am greeted at the door and are very knowledgeable and helpful. Danny helped me the last time and he spent at least 30 min chatting and offering suggestions. There are a lot of Hydro stores in the area but, I like these guys the best. Some thing I discovered my last visit was.... they sell used equipment cheap. Since I am planning a second grow room, this will be very handy when I put together my second grow room. Thanks Danny and Mike read more

This place is fantastic! Supremely helpful and well-stocked. Kenny, who helped me was extremely knowledgeable and approachable. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need; in fact, he saved me a good bit of money by suggesting alternative ideas. Real sharp guy on hydro set up. read more
