On my very first visit to this office, I was suddenly told I have early-stage periodontitis and need a "special" deep cleaning on all four quadrants--at a cost of over $500 that my insurance won't cover. That was surprising, especially given my history of routine cleanings and positive feedback from prior dentists. The staff was thorough, but I left feeling uneasy. Being told to switch to a soft-bristle toothbrush while also being presented with an expensive treatment plan felt off, particularly when I've felt great about my dental health up until now. Maybe this office is right for some people, but the experience didn't sit well with me. I came in confident about my dental health and left feeling pressured into a costly procedure I'm not convinced I need. I was swayed by the reviews--but this one wasn't for me.

However, the specialist visits have been frustrating. The Patients are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, but I waited almost an hour and only then found out the doctor was in surgery. Since surgeries can run longer than expected, it would help if patients were told about delays ahead of time, especially when the specialist is only available at the office about two days a month. In addition, why schedule surgeries the same day of examination?

The day comes, i show up at 1:30ish, my appointment was at 2, and waited forever. A lady with no appointment was seen before me. Hour later got my X-rays done over and over to wait another hour. The procedure finally finished, he told me he used a medicated filling and sent me home. I was in more pain than when I got there. Later I Google medicated filling and it turns out it's TEMPORARY. I was told by the girl that handles the "financial" part of the diagnosis that they do not do amalgam fillings because of the mercury in them and if I insist on amalgam I will have to go to a different dentist. She repeated this to me after going and speaking with the doctor. I needed the tooth taken care of so I agreed to pay the $109 copay for the "recommended" type of filling and I did pay as agreed before I left. I called my insurance company a couple of days later. They in turn called the dentist and was told that the dentist does, in fact, do amalgam fillings and I was mistaken or not telling the truth. So THEY LIED TO ME, twice, AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY. If this is the type of people you want to give your money to that is your decision. I will be filing a formal grievance with my insurance company and the State of California. The way I was treated is disgraceful, dishonest and very unprofessional.
